Whenever I'm happily making music, I don't think about gear, because I have some basic (for 2016 anyway) but very flexible tools. Sometimes I catch myself and I realize it's the idea of the toy I want that is attractive, because I'm imaging myself using it as a vehicle for creativity that I feel is absent at the time. Usually I can stop myself from making a pointless purchase but, case in point, I impulse bought a distortion pedal last week around the same time as starting a thread whining about taking a break from music.

Well so due to sub-par timing I won't be able to rebuild our rigs before playing a show tomorrow... still can do that before playing the big festival next saturday though, most probably will get on it on Monday

In the true ILF spirit, I will post an update in progress with photos of shit just lying around

edit: yeah nah will manage to do it now... seriously... the frontman needs it  his WOOD case is in shambles, non of the locks work so we have to cary it and keep the lid on  not the best for loading in or out

Maybe wrap the case with bungee cords or just tie a length of twine/rope

Nah dude. sold him the Mono case with the power supply and the Gator board. Wired it all up on Friday since we were playing a festival on Saturday. Redid my board too. Pics to come later

super happy with the new board and the power supply! The whole thing is very clean and runs silent, everything fits well and I still have a lot of space for new pedals. It's also much more comfortable for commuting and just casual carrying around. Great for loading up, too :)

thanks to everyone weighing in. Special thanks to Goroth for his recommendation of the 1spot Pro over Whatsapp

one thing for rebuilding my bandmate's board though:

how do you guys velcro down Rat pedals? Do you take off the legs and replae them with shorter screws? Do you put some sort of platforms underneath? WHAT DO

I can't remember what kind of feet it has on it... are they the rubber ones that actually have a screw attaching them? If that's the case, I just unscrew em, take off the rubber part and put the screws back in solo.

Having a whiteface reissue, I do remember having to take out the screw that holds the battery door closed and just use tape instead. It's a mildly horsey pedal in terms of pedalboard attachment.

it's rubber ones with the screw in it but the screw is actually too long so it doesn'T go all the way through. I might just replace them with shorter screws then :idk:

it's a You Dirty Rat btw but I reckon they're all the same construction

I had a similar issue with a crybaby... I took a wooden paint mixer and cut it in half, so there were 2 slats. I put velcro on them then lined those 2 across 2 of the holes and drilled holes through the slats to line up, with the pedal's holes. Screw goes through the velcro slats into pedal.

BEFORE... well I haven't had the 4046-M for a long time now, but the rest was there plus the FIngerprint clone (colourful one in the after picture) and the size and the mess were the same

AFTER (trying the slightly modded TBD on, we shall see if it stays on)
