What's the matter, you guys too good for Hobbs?

Maybe you need some totally derivative, but totally awesome thrash from a few years back.

New Hobb's!!
I am not too good for Hobb's - far from it! I will however admit to being totally out of the loop and having not heard 'em before. A quick wikipedia-ing shows that I certainly should have, though...

Do Asphyx count as thrash? I mean, the mixing certainly isn't as tight and dry as the thrash revivalists, but it feels like it would have been lumped in there back in the day...

If its fast and loud and you bang your head... I call it death, you call it thrash - what's it matter! Asphyx has some great material!

Just discovered this album - the lyrics are heinously bad and their latest album mostly sucks, but this album and the follow-up are pretty killer:

Speedwolf (RIP?) is a joy. they may qualify more as speed metal/NWOBHM. sue me. they have a self-titled song (p sure thats a legal requirement in lieu of a member of municipal waste) and a Hit The Lights intro to start this album so,

Ok this came out last year and somehow I missed it but it is delicious classic thrash.

There are harmonized leads. There are palm muted triplets sprinkled far too liberally to be tasteful. There is a neigh-inaudible bass guitar. There are blast beats. There is imminent danger of cervical spine injury. There is an epic sample for the intro. There is a band that can't decide if they'd rather be DRI or Carcass and says "fuck you" to the idea of having to pick one or the other.

Literally everything you need.

Literally. Everything.

Oh man, Ghoul is awesome. I first heard of them from these guys I met who make incredibly shitty horror movies, and they featured Ghoul in one of their movies. Good stuff indeed.

Yep, new Powertrip is fun :thumb:

The new Vader album has copped a bit of flack for not being as awesome as their other stuff, but I find it pretty thrashy and catchy. Definitely thrashy enough to rate a mention in this thread. Good fun album

Have not checked the new Vader, but I am blasting the new Power Trip right now in my earbuds for the umpteenth time!
