I thought that it was alright, only one listen though.

Deftones is just like having a junkfood fix, there's no need to treat it as if it's anything extravagant - it's just something fun to munch on every now and then.

I actually really dig a lot of these songs. Love the bass VI action. The title track rules.

Two listens through, I dig it. I like it more than the last one.

It's the least 'metal' sounding thing they've done, but still sounds big. Chino's vocals sound totally pissed on a few songs.

The drums sound weird though. I always liked how punchy Abe's drums sounded. They sound a bit woolly on this, and sometimes get a bit lost under the low guitar frequencies.

I just feel like after Chi Cheng passed away, their shit really went crappy. I mean, it wasn't that great after White Pony anyway, but Diamond Eyes and their self titled had some catchy stuff on it. Like I love Change (House of Flies), that's actually one of my all time favorites of theirs. Saturday Night Wrists was fucking awful though IMO. I gave up after that and Palms. Sigh. LOL

I thought it pretty dang good.
