Starlight MkII is a really fantastic flanger. Even having a CBA Spectre I might pick one of those up.

On my side, the search in over.
Starlight MkII + Mid-Fi Electric Yggdrasil on my board cover all my needs.
Sylnau--did I see a demo where you were using the Starlight DLX? Do you like the basic sound of the Starlight MkII better--I hear tell Brian changed things up in the flanger room with the MkII.... The DLX is pretty skull-crushing with all it's modes, but basically sounds A/DAish to me.
BTW, has anybody called it yet? 2016--Year of the RIng Mod....

2016 is the year everyone finally realizes Granular Delay is the shit and it becomes the next shimmer, IMO.

I didn't like the DLX... it was too complexe and cold sounding. The MkII is warm.
Here's my demo.

So, I'm gonna sorta hijack this thread.
What do you guys think is the closest flanger currently on the market to the A/DA flanger?
I've really gotten into Failure/Ken Andrews in general and I know that the A/DA was a staple of their modulation sounds.

Probably the new pedal board friendly A/DA.

I've heard a/b demos between the various A/DA units and the color is a little different. I think the Homebrew is based on the A/DA, if the reissue doesn't suit you. I had an A/DA Final Phase for a while, but always got outbid, while trying to acquire the vintage flange.

I tried the AD/A... wasn't for me.

The main issue I have with the reissue it it's
just so damn expensive. I've seen originals that go for less.
Also, I can't seem to find the HBE Frostbite anywhere. I guess I'll just build the moosapotamus clone when I have the time.

Oh shit, I've never seen that one before.
I was thinking of the bigger reissue.
Damn, that's a great price, actually.
I wonder when it'll be released.

I don't think it's out quite yet, but soon. They're taking pre-orders.

That's why I like the DLX---it's cold and complex. It's perfect for film score work where one has to navigate a frigid, alien terrain. Your demo of the MKII is nice, and it actually reminds me of the Frequency Central Sonic Death Ray phaser---that watery, bubbly character underneath.
