Go to any local GC or Sam Ash...most of them you can find a used Peavey Nitrobass or Firebass. They're loud workhorses and sound decent if you know how to EQ properly plus they can handle extreme amounts of pedal gain. I think I found a Nitrobass for my old bandmate for like $180? It's great for transitioning from beginner to playing gigs.

Necropost!
I found a videosketch of my project playing a theme and the 450 blasting bass at almost zero volume. The recording is through a mobile phone at 3 meters. If you listen to the track with good headphones or a stereo you can hear the projection boom through the shitty mic.
