Now that's just crazy talk. How old?
At 23 I'm younger than my looks and station make me.

I meant how old were you when you bought them, but...*does mental math very slowly*...figures no younger than 13. Okay, that makes some sense. I was imagining an eight year old shuffling through dusty stacks at the local record shop and picking up Frances the Mute.
i mean, at the time when they came out both records were everywhere. Prior to that all of my guitar playing was either classical or a lot of bad classic rock my mom lisrened to, and the occasional led zeppelin and sabbath from my dad, but he never listened to anything past their more vanilla songs, so i didnt know their cooler stuff. I just remember turning on mtv one day and the music videos for The Widow and Little Sister came on back-to-back and my mind was blown. So I saved it up my allowance and got the two records.
I'm not gonna lie I didn't like France the mute on first Listen.

But that's went away quick.

A formative classic. That Nirvana opener is to die for. (haaaaaa)
Also the first CD I remember buying with my own money was Paranoid. It was like $8. I was 10. Good job, 10 year old DoS.

"I Hate Myself And Want To Die" is beyond underrated, IMO.
Paranoid, that's a very cool first album! Nice. Good job 10-year-old D.o.S., indeed.
First record was The Get Up Kid's "Something to Write Home About"
This is one of my favourite albums.
Disgusting CC facts: "Holiday" is actually a prominent feature of the emo Christmas mixes my wife has made over the years... also, you can guess what our wedding song was, from the fact that our wedding rings have "I'll Catch You" inscribed on the inner side of the band. Vomit accordingly

I don't know exactly, but pretty sure my first cassette was something by the (Norwegian) Smurfs. Also remember having a Star Wars tape with a picture book where you would flip the page when a certain sound played, as well as some similar Disney book/tapes. The first tape I bought myself might have been The Simpsons Sing the Blues, in 1990. I was 10 then.
Stuck with cassettes a while into the '90s, think I got my first CD player in '93-'94, and bought Nevermind, which I already had on tape.
The first LP I got was 17 Seconds by The Cure, which a friend gave to me in '99 I think. First one I bought was Joy Division's Closer, a year after that (yes, I was a goth). But I remember back in the '80s my uncle had a lot of records, and I got him to make tape copies for me of Thriller, Fair Warning by Van Halen and the Beat Street Soundtrack, which was my first introduction to hip-hop.
I feel old now...

This thread has the highest Weird Al quotient on ILF.

So it's back before "first time I really looked at a pair of boobs and thought 'hey, boobs!'" or "realizing that not everyone is a special snowflake after all (thanks, Trey)."
I want to say the first CD I ever owned was Green Day's Insomniac, but I didn't buy it (and wouldn't actually get a CD player for another year or so). No idea on the tapes. First record I remember going out of my way to purchase was a straight up minty copy of Are You Experienced?
I'm gonna wax total hetero caveman for a second and just note that the first time you get to see and play with boobs is pretty much the best developmental memory you're gonna have.
Unless something went horribly wrong.
It'd be interesting to hear from the ladies about what that experience is like on the other side of the fence or from people of a non-hetero point of view of what the equivalent is.
Sex, unlike music is such a double edged sword, especially with first experiences.
LETS GET AWKWARD.
But you know, not too detailed and creepy.
I think the first tape I owned was a James Morrison album when I was about 5 or 6 and just starting to play trumpet.
I think my first CD may have been Woodface by Crowded House when I was 7 or 8 and it was gifted to me by my grandmother.
I think the first thing I bought myself with my own money was the first Soundgarden record and the Screaming Life Ep, on cd, and I may have been about 13.

I think I'm broken for not caring about boobs. ._____.; I've never seen them as anything different than my own chest, also with the ridiculousness that we as a society think of the nipple as obscene, just the nipple.
Actually nsfw, but hilariously related:

First record: "Beat It" 7" (bought for me by my parents—still have it)
First tape: INXS Kick (bought with my own $, Camelot Music, 1988 I believe)
First CD(s): Nevermind and Rush's Roll the Bones, Xmas '91 to go with my radical new Discman. I always say the cool factor of getting the Nirvana was totally negated by the xtra lame (then) late period Rush.

Interesting. So hopefully awesome anticipation and "let's do this!" mode?

That was pretty funny. Yeah the nipple thing is ridiculous.
I guess what I was driving at was more asking, do girls want guys to jump at their boobs like savage animals, are they keen on that? Like, "Here they are! Get in there tiger! I want you to have at it! I love this shit!"
Or is it sort of like, "well, I guess this is what you do...WOW! He is really impressed by this. Maybe I'll get him to do what I want in a bit and actually get off..."
Keeping this in the context of the first time there is boob exposure. I'm sure there are many mixed emotions and thoughts.
I remember thinking, "NO FUCKING WAY. THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. FUCKING FUCK YEAH. Never done this before, but I don't ever want to stop now I've started."
My point is, whatever your motivations are ladies, thank you for doing it. You've been a huge part of somebodies life.
Vice versa for dudes who whipped it out.
And much gratitude for every partner involved in every successful and formative sexual exchange.
Making memories.
Making lives.
