No way, man. Life flows on within you and without you. That's very true. You are actually a colony of billions of smaller lifeforms. When you die they'll eat you. I think Harrison was pretty spot on.

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is the best Cure album.
Weird early Nine Inch Nails is the best NIN. I love the demos for Pretty Hate Machine more than any of the released stuff, with Broken being the best released product.
Gary Numan is god.
Pop Will Eat Itself should be better known in America.
KMFDM peaked at NIHIL but is still fun.
Almost everything people suggest on here makes me feel old. I just can't do most modern singers.

Chan Marshall shouldn't have sobered up. Everything past Covers Record 1 is garbage.
Sonic Youth did not release one album that is good front to end. That said, NYC Ghosts and Washing Machine are best, the rest clocking in somewhere between fun and horrible. I still love them.
Raw Power is best. (Most people I know irl like the eponymous best, on here Fun House seems to take the cake.)
The first Refused album is the best.

bigchiefbc wrote:"Within you without you" is a bunch of horrible gibberish you get when you give a sitar to a stoned white man who thinks he's enlightened. It's fucking embarassing. Sorry, not sorry.

Best stoned white dude sitar jams:

Agreed. I mean I'm glad she doesn't want to kill herself any more and stuff, good for her, but jesus the music sucks now.

Panopticon is a thousand times better than Oceanic.
INCLUDING the god damn drums.

Oceanic would be perfect with Panopticon's production. Panopticon is where they started turning into a band for line cooks and other tool fans. ------> \_/.

(they were incredible on that tour though).

Panopticon has shit sounding guitars. They sound like bad mp3 recordings, even when you're listening to the proper album.

No way man. I fucking love how harsh that wall of fuzz sounds.
I know how bad guitars sound, In Keeping Secrets... was my favorite album for a long time.

& those female vocals on Oceanic are lame as fuck, completely takes me out of the vibe.

let's all be honest, Celestial still has the best ratio of fidel hat chug riffs to bong hit clean parts of all Isis records.

Oh actually I've got one:

The Beyond by Cult of Luna did Celestial/Oceanic era Isis better than Isis did.

So that's why heavy bands have clean parts
I agree with you're sentiment though.

& I haven't listened to Cult of Luna so I'll have to check that album out, thanks :thumb:

Unpopular opinion - both Oceanic and Panopticon are great and probably the best two Isis albums as a whole :idk:

good point about The Beyond though  Ass-tearing record for sure, although In ever got too much into Cult of Luna because I got all that buzz from The Ocean, Isis and Neurosis. Although I liked the late Cult of Luna albums better then the late Neurosis albums

which reminds me
last time I checked Given to the Rising and Honor Found in Decay were the worst Neurosis albums. Whatever the fuck went wrong...

oh come on (n)euro-isis mad a way heavier album with the beyond.

That said I haven't listened to it in like five years and red sea / celestial has always been my favourite Isis stuff so I could be wrong.

actually tbh I think I'm just saying that because I've always hated the bass tone on Isis records.
