Yeah the weirder possibilities of this thing are what is keeping me intrigued at this point.

Is the SFX some kind of bit crusher?Inconuucl wrote:What would you guys like to see in a demo?
Is there anything cool you can do with the Tera Echo setting? How customisable is that?
Chaotic parallel delays.

Re: Boss DD-500
The SFX is a delay that has a built in bit crusher and a trem. The trem is redundant, as you can apply trem to any patch in the deeper edition options, but the Bit crusher can do some cool stuff, specially once you start modulating parameters with the LFOs.
Okay So thus far I have for the demo:
*Weird/glitch patches (sample of that in my instagram: https://instagram.com/p/7_ne57IX_4/)
*Go through some of the modes
*having two patches on at once
*stupid custom pattern function.

Re: Boss DD-500
You have a bunch of lfos I control any parameter, controlling effect volume like that does the trem. I also made a patch in the shimmer where the shimmer note was affected by an lfo making for weird rising repeats.

Yep. And now you see why I've been lost in the GR55 and GT-001 (which have similar controlsets) for years now. ;0

Re: Boss DD-500
Has someone tried to make this thing communicate with a modular ? Particularly clocking it from something else using the tap tempo input.
The manual does not specify the safe voltage range for expression inputs, any idea about that ?
Boss stuff is usually well protected but you never know...

Re: Boss DD-500
It'll be whatever the range is for a traditional passive expression pedal (Roland/Boss designs around the EV-5 for everything and has since the Stone Age).
IE no CV.

Re: Boss DD-500
It has full midi, which is just as good with the right modules.

Re: Boss DD-500
Well, I use triggers from my Pamela's Workout (clock module) all the time to sync my DD-20 so I kinda hoped the same kind of things could be achieved, at least.

Re: Boss DD-500
Yea, if CTRL 1, 2 can be a tap tempo switch, you should be able to use it. You may just have to translate the signal into a relay. But it would be possible.

Re: Boss DD-500
Will have to come in in whatever format the DD-500 expects to see it (compatible with a FS-6). It's a TRS cable with two momentary latches.

Re: Boss DD-500
I wonder if this comes with anything like the El Cap tape bias control where you can set max repeat oscillations and play over them?

I cordially invite you to fuck right off and let the rest of us talk about music like adults.- dubkitty

Yea, you can CV that. I did with my dd-5.rfurtkamp wrote:Will have to come in in whatever format the DD-500 expects to see it (compatible with a FS-6). It's a TRS cable with two momentary latches.

Re: Boss DD-500
Yea, figured somebody had done it. I'm just about as interested in CV and modular stuff as I am in 1990s DOD pedals...ie...none.
