you should, that'd be cool.
i've been kinda obsessed with minimalism lately and have been trying to strike a balance between malnutrition/poor self-maintenance vs. having possessions i don't need/spending money that doesn't need to be spent.

Yeah if it doesn't have a picture of Billy Corgan on it and/or isn't convolution reverb software I'm basically taking a pass at this point.

This is me, which is highly fortunate, because I got laid off last month and I'm broke as all fuck. I was actually thinking about starting a Frugal Living Tips thread in general discussion before I saw this thread.
You may as well still start that thread!

I wouldn't say I'm completely broke, but I'm starting to feel the financial pain of going from 50ish hours a week to 30ish at work while paying my student and car loans. I mean, I'm really happy because it has given me plenty to time to learn about sound and practice with the band and have a good time in other areas of my life; but I'm feelin it. I offloaded all of my excess gear, don't have any pedals that aren't currently on my board or on a band members board, but none of it sold on here :\.

I've been the same way recently, and there is definitely a balance you can attain if you can discipline yourself. An old roommate of mine took it to the next level and decided she would try to own no more than 100 items, but I don't think you have to live like an extreme ascetic to take an inventory of what you own/spend money on and what you actually value, what makes you happy. I'm a little fortunate in that the only consumer objects I really care about is musical equipment, and even then I'm pretty ruthless about what I allow myself to buy. But one of my big personal hurdles right now is cutting back on alcohol, a thing that apparently is entrenched into my routine life. It's expensive and terrible for you, but I also enjoy getting buzzy so it's a tough sacrifice. Thank the dark lord I'm not a cigarette smoker though.

I really like cutting back non-essentials. But I've allowed myself more since I realized you need stuff to create stuff. That sort of asceticism isn't for maker types.

I really need to sell my MIG-50 and Bass-Drive. I don't use them nor do I need them anymore and it would be nice to have a cash reserve for moving next month. I have just enough money in the bank to cover the second payment on my Science Mother and that's it for spending money.

 all the regular smokers i know are spending 100+ dollars a WEEK here
you would think it would stop them but apparently not
having watched relatives go from lung cancer i can say the money is definitely not your biggest concern

It's crazy how much you can downsize your life and not even feel it, or just feel better. I went from needing half the dresser my wife and I share to two drawers and I don't feel any less fashionable or anything. Not that I'm terribly fashionable but I do all right. The only problem with downsizing is it's normally not lucrative. Like I could have sold my clothes to a consignment store and made like $30 or something, but that's not much compared to what it all cost to begin. I've saved a lot by switching from drinking beer lots, to water, beer, and whiskey. Seems silly but I can gets buzz on way cheaper haha.

I'm normally not as broke as I am at the moment. Just had some car stuff come up that is a bummer though.

My gear buyandflipandbuyagain phase ended when I got married. Lots of new bills to pay and things to save for. I sold everything I could and was left with a single guitar, single amp, and DigiTech stuff. Got a Judder inbound thanks to birthday cash though :joy:

Seriously, now that my band is starting up again I can't just flip everything every once in a while like I used to, since we already have songs that rely on certain sounds.
Aren't you in Casual Sam?
