That's exactly what I thought of the normal reverbs before knowing the existence of the "Preset Output Level" parameter that you can enable by holding the left button.
Then I realize that most of the presets sounded way better when adjusting the dB to be a little bit under unity gain and having the mix level a little bit more than 40%.

It's clear to me that a lot of the stock presets were made thinking in keys or having them on an FX loop rather than in front of a guitar amp.

You are not alone! I routinely get delivery notices two or even three days in advance. I live in a rural area and I think the notices are triggered when it passes through Montreal

I too will eventually get on board the Reverb Machine train. I am still hopelessly besotted with the Echo Degrader for droney textures, and it basically kundalini zapped me, opening up my photosensitive third eye to the point that I have to remember that I love fuzz, because I basically think about delay most of the time, with brief interruptions by synth and fuzz insurgents.

But yeah, verb....

In the meantime, while gradually clearing myself of delay engrams, I really enjoy the extreme versatility/tweakability and clean cold sound of the Source Audio Soundblox 2 Dimension reverb, the strangeways of the Logidy EPSi convolution reverb, the weirder unnatural aspects of the EHX Cathedral (which seem to confound the P&W cherubs down in the underground grotto/chapel), and fuqqed up spring antics from a Vermona retroverb; all imho worth at least a look-see, all capable of a range of sound, all easy to set up for those WTF moments.

Ok I just upped my price range. So now I'm thinking eventide space, strymon bigsky, or two sepatate $200ish pedals. What do you think? Another consideration is that I can get a space for $400 because I know someone who works for guitarcenter.

LOL
fuck yes. that thing is so insane. it's amazing how it just absolutely dismantles whatever goes into it. it sounds like a machine is in there! slowly melting a tape, making shapes with it's goo then shattering it into a bunch of teeny tiny pieces leaving the tape reel sputtering and squealing    the RM-1N and ED go hand in hand :thumb: totally get on it
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

RM-1N is super rad. Say what you will about the hype train flavor of the month/whatever, it is fucking awesome and it is very hard not to use it on everything ever.

I heard there were some weird power issues with the rm-1n. Did that ever get sorted out?

Do you use it at the front or end of your chain? It seems like it would work best at the end of the chain but I bet it's awesome if you run it into some other stuff too.

I run mine off a 1 spot with no problems, but I can't daisy chain it or use it off an isolated port on the pp2+. I used it at the beginning for a while, because of it's unavoidable preamp, but I've come to embrace it and now it use it after dirt

I used it daisy chained from my PP2. No power issues for me so far. Only at the end of the chain because i'm a square.

Well, I was talking about needing a third reverb. :picard:

I can't do shit till after the summer probably. Got my money tied up in moving (and a count to five preorder) but I feel like I've been doing myself a disservice not having one of these.

Can't judge. RM1 will be my 6th, not counting flips and verbs added onto other effects. And amp verbs. And unicorn verbs I keep in the paddock with the horse and donkey.

I feel a reverb purge comin' on, though, either to fund a glitch device or RM1 or because, as I expect, RM1 will neuter and gut lesser reverbs on arrival. Digitech XP-400 and EHX Cathedral were first in, probs first out, too. Logidy ain't ever goin' anywhere. Source Audio? Who knows? It's cold in Space.
