Here is a pic of the settings I used in the video. I always crank all the knobs on my original DOD Meatbox to get the sound I like.
If the Meat (mix) knob is turned past noon ('Octave' on the reissue, I guess?) then your bass starts sounding like a synth, it's unnatural sounding IMO. Noon is the sweet spot for Meat (IMO) to get all the rumbles, and still sound like a bass, not a keyboard.

Yes, the original does go fully wet, as far as I could tell.

Also, I agree the new box looks great. I dunno why they need two extra big knobs (?) I'd rather have small knobs if that means the knobs are further from the stomp switch (one of my pet peeves now - when you stomp your effect on, and change your settings with your foot because everything's too close together). Meatbox could be an "always on" pedal for some people though.

Can anyone comment on the EHX MOLE in relation to the Meatbox? Because the Mole is only $45. Only one knob, so not as flexible. Besides that...?

i haven't tried the Mole but as far as I know it's just an LPB-1 with a lowpass filter in front of it that boosts everything under ~400hz or so, so i'm guessing they're a lot muddier and less flexible than Meatbox.
i've never liked the sound of the LPB-1 personally but it might still be good depending on what you're using it for.

The Mole is a boost that boosts both the volume and low frequencies. Basically a bass knob and volume knob combined. The Meatbox only boosts certain subfrequencies (y?)

What I never understood though, was the difference between all the Mantic pedals :)

Beef bag= dorect meatbox clone. Density hulk= their improved sub circuit. Flex=LSD. Isaiah=delay, Poverb= reverb, Vitriol= bass distortion.
