don't want to thread-poop this thing, but by the description I suppose you're talking about Celestion TF1525 and I have SURPRISINGLY good experience with that one. I have it in my Trace Elliot and I used to be a big Eminence believer but this Celestion is pretty awesome :idk:

now... it COULD be a bit more sensitive. But otherwise I can't say anything about not having enough low end. But then again... I do play in standard or drop D

Nope, BN15-300S is what I have at the moment, and it does the same thing with all my amps. The Celestion TF1525 is a better speaker [and cheaper] but still not really my favorite thing. For me if you can't crank the thing and play dub through it then a bass speaker is useless weather or not I go lower than E, even a bari tuned guitar can push a lot stuff more then I like, but then I don't like speak distortion at all :idk:

+1 for getting an Atlas instead pining over Emperor. Petras is a super nice dude and his prices are insanely good.

INSANELY good.

I've messaged every comparable company and the usual experience is, What the fuck, why does that cost so much? *cough*JANICE*cough*

Atlas is priced so low it seems unfair. Like you feel like asking him if he knows how much cabs are worth LOL

Yeah it's weird. Altas, Mojotone, and Avatar (although their build is shit) are all stupid affordable. I almost ordered a new unloaded Mojotone 4x12 but I passed for a used one. I remember the price and shipping was just about the same as an Atlas would be. And I did end up getting a new Mojotone 2x12 to pair with the used 4x12, they sound better than Marshall or Avatar's equivalents. That's for certain. I guess with everyone else they figures they can mark up for their or their company's name.

Here's to hoping if they do come back they're not stupid expensive and a little more solidly built.

I liked the Tyrant stuff. It is too exhausted to take on the road. Emperor is looking a little more built for speed than comfort.

Is it hard to do the doomy wood stain trick? Because I just ordered an unfinished cab from this guy: http://www.trmguitarcabs.com/

I think to do it really well it probably needs to be sprayed as opposed to brushed. I'm sure there DIY furniture videos on YouTube that discuss the subject.

FWIW I recommend satin rather than gloss once you've actually stained the wood.

One of the Emperor guys started up Dictator cabs for a minute, they had some stock at Chicago Music Exchange, very sexy cabs! Looks like it might've changed to Tyrant Cabs now, not 100% sure. They look very similar to the Dictator stuff and the company is still based out of Chicago...
