I play the chord progression of the song I'm working on and play around with melodic ideas. Also use it to stack copies of similar chords notes to create a huge crescendos, which is less standard.
I don't own a looper but it's the only non fuzz pedal on my gas list. The above purpose is what I want to use it for. I think it would be awesome to create massive extended chord shapes that would be impossible without a third hand.
Also it's getting so boring playing by myself.
Not sure what looper I want but leaning towards the x2 :idk:
What other good options are there that is pedalboard friendly and simple to use?

I suck at looping. But I enjoy playing looped delay lines.
I have a Boss RC-3 which is also great for triggering
sampled lines (like how people used to use tape players
for sonic mayhem at shows—e.g. Steel Pole Bathtub).

I recently extruded this noodle through a Basic Audio Fuzz Mutant
and a Boss RE-20 Space Echo.

Another trick that sometimes works to lull people into accepting an indulgent,
overly long loop-party (which is fun for me, maybe not for anybody else) is to
create some sort of visual distraction to overwhelm the senses of whoever is
listening. Add some smoke and sweet-smelling herbaceous "incense" to the
environment and people are even more likely to soak it all up with a smile.

Brevity is the soul of wit, but I'm a witless redundant dunderhead.
Et cetera and so forth.

Edit:
There is some looping in this, but the idea is that eventually I'll
play live music while screening this. For which I'll have to use
a looper and delay pedals, and also have some sounds coming through
with the projection (since they need to be synced to the image and
that will will give some sort of cue to me about what the hell is
going on while trying to recreate the parts and textures).
