Excitement tripled. Jim O' Rourke and Melt Banana? Looks like it's finally getting into good hands.moogboy wrote:Melt Banana have an SY300 on their current tour with Napalm Death and the Melvins. If I'm not dead after this show I'll figure out how to post a picture of the boards.
Still recovering but GOT DAMN that shit was DIVORCED FROM THE HOOK WITH A CONTINENTAL RESTRAINING ORDER. Agata's rig was centered around the SY-300, a Whammy, DD-6, HOG, and a Fulltone GT overdrive. From my vantage point (about 5 inches from the edge of his HOG), I was able to watch him use everything ultra clearly. The SY-300 got used fairly extensively for crazy noise-blasts and a little bit of layered wall of sound kinda stuff. Favorite usage-at one point it was patched to spit out a nasty Arpanoid on PCP sequence when he hit one of the CTL switches and it was used to devastating effect in a breakdown thing. The HOG was on for a solid 60 percent of the show and I've never seen anyone abuse a Whammy so much and so well.chrisdermo wrote:Excitement tripled. Jim O' Rourke and Melt Banana? Whoa, damn. I last saw/thought about Melt Banana in 2007. I heard about this tour with Napalm Death and Melvins, sounds like a blast. I wonder what any of those bands even sound like these days. That pedalboard alone makes me wonder what they sound like these days.moogboy wrote:Still recovering but GOT DAMN that shit was DIVORCED FROM THE HOOK WITH A CONTINENTAL RESTRAINING ORDER. 10/10 glad that was the first time I heard their music.

this video made me want this bad
So I'm guessing the sy was at the start of his chain? Playing synth pedals into my whammy is my favouritest thing ever, adding a hog into that equation just makes my head spin.... They're playing in London at raw power festival soon I think I'm gonna have to get a ticket! I have a feeling seeing them would school me on using the sy quite extensively, even though the music I make doesn't resemble theirs at all, similar to when I saw Beak> and basically got a masterclass in how to play a Korg m500 synth like a demon.moogboy wrote:Still recovering but GOT DAMN that shit was DIVORCED FROM THE HOOK WITH A CONTINENTAL RESTRAINING ORDER.
