I also hate the Civilian issue. In fact, it's the reason I never tried the big box.
I tried this at NAMM a few years back and it was fucking crazy then. I bet it's off the hook now (do people say that still?).
Anyway, I'd love to try one. The price is something that seems fair, but I'd wait until it's used to try one. Or a dealer discount. Not sure if I'd use 90% of what this sucker can do.
I bet it'd go great with modular stuff though.
Protostar is the great modular madhouse pedal of the lineup, with the full patchbay across the top, just glorious. I imagine it will work amazingly with the GCpro, especially in front of a WMD'd-up rack.
I remember when the Pro was first announced, what, five years ago? Everyone started flipping stuff in anticipation, that far back. In that time WMD has evolved into producing full modular systems, manufacturing for other companies, and dropping cutting edge new goodies on the regular. I'm sure a lot of the delay was due to eurorack being such a priority; considering what they've done for/in eurorack, how far they have come and taken it, it was understandably necessary.
count me in as a protostar lover.
That thing is amazing. so many sounds to be had
Always overlooked the geiger counter, but this pro version seems very very interesting.
Gotta wait for some demos

When the initial prototype was unveiled for public viewing, WMD was trying to get it below $900. It's taken 6 years, but they've added 16 onboard presets and thousands of new sonic possibilities. I'm ecstatic that it's $449. I never thought this thing would get below $499.
Considering that new bit of info, the price seems more than fair, though I'm too cheap to spring for one until Black Friday.
