Why wouldn't you? Seems like a logical thing to do. If I've ever had an issue with a product I contact the seller first.
i think most sellers -- especially small shops/flippers go to the ends of the earth to make good on stuff.

i bought an eko acoustic guitar, which was in GREAT condition except some frets are popping up (fixable) and the tailpiece was wrong (it was the 'long' version when it should be the 'short' -- to intone correctly, the bridge had to be right up against it, which caused buzzing and gross). i told the seller and he handled the situation in short order.

what i'm saying i guess is that i agree with you. usually, i think, there is a solution that makes everyone reasonably happy if you just talk!

I've had good luck buying on Reverb.

Selling has been hit or miss. Some things sold quickly. Others sat for a while in spite of price drops. I pulled the products and reposted on Ebay at the original (higher) price and they sold quickly.

Seems Reverb doesn't have the viewership of Ebay just yet....it will get better with time.

I really like the site and how quickly you can setup a item for sale. Drag-n-drop photos is really nice. I also like that it will give you a history of prices for recently sold similar items to help guide your asking price. All useful tools.

Yes exactly! His (I assume his?) response scared me as a seller though. What if I messed up by accident and someone was just like "screw this person". I have many times went above and beyond to make things right with people. Obviously screw ups aren't intentional, but they do happen.

I usually offer it here first, but I've had good selling experiences on reverb. The free listing is real nice and the fees are less than ebay. I would feel okay buying something there

A decent and honest description of an item is all I ask when buying from anyone on internet.
I don't like to mess with returns, refunds, phone calls, email chatting, starting a dispute on paypal, etc... Unless I never got the item on my hands or it's DOA.

But your monies? lol

I guess I see your logic but at the same time it is worth it to me to contact them because you can get a discount/refund or whatever. It's a hassle for sure, but can be beneficial. I'm all about good communication baby. :)

Love me some Reverb right now though.

They've got a particular demographic.

Most of what I want hasn't been available, but they seem very hipster/FOTM-centric in the marketing. The Bay still has the foot traffic for the weird stuff, particularly older rack items and things that aren't boutiquey.

Not surprising given CME's ownership of the site.

is reverb mostly geared towards pedals and guitar/bassist type stuff?

is there synths and electronic stuff being sold there as well?

There's *some* non-guitar-related stuff, but it's few and far between in my searching.

And the non-guitar stuff is the stuff that *appeals* to guitarists most of the time.

I watched for a few months when I was in the market for a new USB interface, and the ones I was looking at just weren't ever listed.

GC had something like 6 of them used at a time, and even Music Go Round had a couple on their respective sites.

I sold crap on forums for years. Talkbutt and TGP mostly. That kinda sucks these days. Takes too long, too many flakes. Selling on here is great of course, but things don't move fast, and I'm an impulsive seller. :)*

Trying out Reverb right now. First of 10 pedlolz sold in less than an hour. Hope the rest go within a few weeks, otherwise back to eButt and their ridiculous fees it is! Or I'll keep my pile and go further into debt. :idk:

I just sold about 1200 bucks worth of stuff on there in two days. I'm digging it.

NAD where the fuck were you at NAMM btw? I looked for you!

Did you?! I saw the NAMMsturbation thread and thought you forgot about me.

I spent less time in the booth this year, I now have minions to do my bidding MUAHAHAHA!!! but I was in Nordland from 10 until 2ish each day. After that I set to wandering about, talking/selling/shopping.

It was nutso as per usual. I am still completely behind at the shop, which has nothing to do with me dicking around on ILF right now! :omg: Honest.

I recently had an issue selling on Reverb with their "Reverb Direct" checkout option.

About a week after the money was supposed to be put into my bank account, I called to see what the deal was. Apparently they received a message from their bank saying that the payment didn't go through. They tried again and I called a week later and they had the same message. I finally sent a heated email after they charged me for my monthly fees (without first making sure I had gotten my cash) and they had the money to me the following business day.

I don't mind that the money didn't go through right away, but I thought it was pretty lame how I had to ask them where my money was instead of them letting me know there was an issue. Everyone I talked to was nice and helpful, and they gave me some credit for the inconvenience, but I wish things would've been a little smoother on their end. Everything has been gravy with them besides that.

:omg: My shop is now live.

I've opted out of the Reverb Direct checkout option though.
