They might be a bit too metal, but they've got plenty of swagger and loosey goosey attitude. But that's all I've got. I'm hanging out to see what other dudes suggest.

Oh yeah. 2x4 by Metallica. Ignore the fact that it's on Load. It's awesome....
...but, but, but I LOVE Load! (and Reloaded) :erm:

Yes. Because that shit rules.
Dudes, I had not listened to Valiant Thorr or Gay Witch Abortion (which is pretty much the best band mame ever) in fucking ages. Thank you.
Also gonna check out this Tight Bros. stuff.

About to see if the Internet had allowed for the survival of any Hateman material. Will report back with findings.

The Bronx get categorized as a punk band, but they always feel like a really rad rock and roll band to me. Same goes for Burning Love.

Yes.
Bronx are rad.
Rad, indeed.

Also, this is all the Hateman I could find on youtube.

Probably not rich with the ass kicking "ALRIGHT"s and "YOW"s.

But, kinda sludgy rock, all the same.

Since we're onto general Alright and Yow music, this stuff from the other thread is pretty awesomely fitting in:

Valient Thorr are so unbelievably great live. I know we all know this, but it bears repeating. Repeatedly.

They are perhaps my all-time favorite opening band. They just set the bar so high and give everyone so much energy for the headliners

Also, JRMZZRZRZS, High on Fire are playing in Maine on Sunday, so I'm going to hit that instead of schlepping myself to RI in the middle of the week.

Bummer, but totally understandable. I'm stoked for Wednesday, but not so much for Thursday morning.

'Till Swervedriver, then!

Lol at you east coast people. Shows in another state? Oh that's only two hours away. Me? Shows in the same state, just north of me in Denver? Fuck that, it's two hours away.

The first few Rye Coalition records are great. I lost interest when they started doing to full-on AC/DC worship.

Full disclosure: I love AC/DC, and most everything is sort of derivative, but it just felt weird to me to shift from Jesus Lizard to AC/DC in one record. IDK.

These run more towards the cheese metal spectrum.

I have a real fondness for that NWOBHM period where it was still "heavy metal"... before it all got a bit more codified. pre-Slayer I guess. ha.

Pete Adams (Baroness) and his brother's band:
Valkyrie

Bible of the Devil
I cannot in good conscience recommend their other albums, but every track on "Freedom Metal" is fucking perfect. Thin Lizzy fucking Judas Priest glorious.

Everything Chris Black has done (Dawnbringer!), but especially his 80's metal vehicle, High Spirits:
