So some people want beat to shit grimey guitars but yet want pristine white glove pedals. What the hell...

I keep my gear clean, but not spotless. Dirty pedals are fucking disgusting.
My wife is Persian. No shoes allowed indoors. I've grown used to it, mostly.

I own several white moogerfoogers that I don't like looking too grimy, but all; but one of my pedals are some variation of black/grey/white so I don't notice it too often.

Most of my favorite gear was made sometime in the mid 20th century.
Finding super clean examples of these various relics are usually out of the question...but no big deal as I think old gear looks better with battle scars anyway.
My wallet also appreciates the break that accompanies such wear. Relic'd gear is lame though...
Off topic: I wear house shoes indoors (velcro sport flipflops) and change shoes in the vestibule. That keeps outside contaminants to a minimum.
Also keep a box fan w/ultra 1600 hepa filter in my studio-ette/gear room which greatly helps reduce dust/contaminants.

Sometimes it really does, yes! But it doesn't necessarily need lots of dirt and piles of dust alongside the battle scars. A war veteran uses the shower from time to time as well, I'm sure.

For home use, I mostly don't, though I occasionally get paranoid about the couple that have sliders instead of knobs. But when selling/trading, I'll give 'em a once-over...

Wearing shoes inside is so weird to me
My family do it quite often but it feels weird to me
To be fair, I don't like wearing shoes at all really, or socks
Let those puppies breathe

Slippers are the weirdest really. Summer I go barefoot, winter I wear socks inside because my place is all hardwood floors.

My slippers are reserved for my morning cigarette before I get dressed for the day.
They serve no other purpose.
Edit: That came across a lot more ominous than I intended it to
Also I love how this thread has now gone the direction of "How do you feel about footwear in the home?"

I lost my slippers in a move and never replaced them. Which is a real bummer, actually.

Slippers are bullshit. Oh cool, now my feet are all sweaty.
They're just like robes, I'll wear them a few times and then fuck that, I'm not going through the effort.
BULLSHIT I TELL YOU

I could not care less about the shoe question. Having a child basically ups the ante on how to get stuff dirty anyway. I usually take them off because they feel clumsy, I'd rather go in socks or slippers. Not much of a barefoot man here.
I cleaned my board twice in the approximately two years of its existence. I liked that. But it does not seem important at all. It's just a way to get in touch with the pedals in a different way.
… what?
I'm off to the drunk thread.

So I'm not talking about just your run of the mill dust. I'm talking about grimy, disgusting shit. Some of the pedals I've purchased literally look like someone took a shit on them. Didn't someone here have their cat piss on one of their pedals? I seem to recall that. So I'll clean them when there is huge mounds of fuzz and shit on them. My pedals never get dirty. But I barely use shoes when playing so that's probably why.
Battle scars are one thing. Nasty shit is a whole different ball game.
Oh and fuck slippers. Free balls, free feet. Know what I mean?
