Yep, exactly :)

thing is - I don't think they do it live either. That's why Finck plays through pretty standard stuff - he doesn't do the weird sounds. Neither does Trent or anyone else in the band. Yeah, Cortini still does rad shit, but it's also loads of modulars doing drones and stuff like that - my point is that live, it doesn't feel they're trying to recreate the fucked up sounds. They play it with a bit different sound aesthetic. which is perfectly fine, but I think if they could, they would recreate more

Stuff like this happens usually ONLY after hours of editing or with absolutely unrealistically impractical combinations of crazy pedals on crazy settings - which is not really convenient for live use

There was a thread on, I think, Gearslutz or something where one of the guys he worked with for the good records was describing how the Rez had hired them, essentially, to sit in a room in New Orleans all day and just make sounds for his library. Apparently it was pretty fucking miserable (for the fragile album, I believe).

Well.
I played that one part from Ruiner with a bass through a Ruiner. So.
So there's that.

Live, I think they run everything through mainstage.

I was revisiting Broken the other day as well and there are some nasty guitar sounds on there. Here's hoping the Art gets you there!

Broken is after my NIN days of interest, but the earlier stuff you can hear it all over Downward Spiral.

Can PM if you need help making sense of the thing (and download the manual from ART, YOU WILL NEED IT).

DUDE! Broken is one of the best and most aggressive NIN ablums. You don't like???

Warning I'm a huge NIN fan and will defend them to the death. hahahaha

It didn't speak out to me, if I knew why I could probably like it!

Just hit a wall of 'heard all the NIN I wanted to hear' I suspect.

Since Broken came out right after he got finished with the Pretty Hate Machine tour does that mean Pretty Hate Machine is the only NIN album you like? :?:
