Was excited to hear about this but looking at the specs there's too much that is redundant with my bass VI or I just don't like at all. Disappointed :(

Why are you considering this one over the VM VI?

mainly the different tuning
i think it would be a cooler inbetween than having e-e guitar, e-e bass vi and an e-g bass
i do love jag/jazz trems but i dont want the hassle of having to get a new bridge, having it non locking, etc
i think the antigua is cool

You don't *have* to do that, and the non-locking has been a total non-issue on any of them.

I expected to have to replace it on my first Squier with one. Four years out...and I still haven't needed to.

Haven't replaced a single bridge on a Jazz/Jag/VI either.

The Mastery and Staytrem evangelists would change theirs out if it came with the opposing brand, I swear.

Yeah get the VI. You can keep the stock bridge. I did for a while and it somewhat worked though it required a bit of maintenance. The saddle height screws kept unsetting themselves. The nail polish trick worked but only lasted a while.

The Staytrem was a serious improvement anyway.

i mean if you want the tuning of this one and its not any more expensive than a VI i don't see why not. the trem on the VI is almost useless anyway. the bari probably won't need as much tweaking from stock.
but yeah 500 for a VI down here is good, i paid about that much for a used one, they're still weirdly hard to get from shops. can always sell it on if it doesn't suit you.

Nail polish isn't Loctite.

Get proper (blue-type, typically) Loctite, the screws will NOT move.

Same stuff you use on guns and engine parts etc under vibration and torque an instrument will never, ever see.

I got the baritone yesterday!
Loving it so far but I have been super busy so not a lot of time to play around
Feels like a lot less of an adjustment neck wise than I thought it would be (I normally play a jag)
But yeah, it's well set up and looks and feels great
The VI might have been a better/smarter buy for some but I went with my gut
