Empress tape delay is super rad.
Played with ChetMagolgalo's for a while the other day.

If you're ever in Sweden you can come jam on my ILFDD
When it comes to delay, I actually prefer the dd-3 to the dd-7. It's got crappier ad/da converters and sounds awesome because of it. If you don't need the fancy features of the dd-7 grab a dd-3. It's repeats are not that dark, but there is a high cut mod you can do.

^ If I could afford to travel to Sweden, I wouldn't hesitate for a second about grabbing an ILFDD ;p

Thanks for the offer though. Totally off-topic: Sweden is supposedly THE best place in Europe to live, at least for someone like me:)
Finland's a close second, or so I'm told by people who should know:)
Anyway, that's not the first time I hear/read that about the DD3. And they even seem to go for considerably less than DD7's. But than again, it might nice to have the DD7's modulation, as well as some of the other extras. Decisions, decisions...

I love my Carbon Copy, I got mine on ebay a few months ago in pristine condition for 90.00.
I currently run 3 delays on my board, CC, Echo Dream, and DD-6(in reverse).
If i were you go for the CC its fantastic.
I been wanting to get the Beheringer DMM clone, however I heard it really murders your signal.

frigid midget wrote:The more I read and hear about it, the more it seems like the ILFDD is designed specifically for me. Checked all the clips I could find, sounds nothing short of impressive. The ILF exclusiveness, the rarity factor, and the fact that it's made by one of my favorite builders, for my favorite forum...That just makes it so much harder to resist:s
BUT...I've got to remind myself that I can't afford to let GAS take the better hand of me, and that I'll probably be more than okay with "just" a DD-7. I'm actually pretty sure it'll also sound decent enough for whatever few people I'll ever get to play for, including myself. But mostly, it won't come in the way of paying the bills, feeding my kids, etc:s
Even an empress tape delay would be slightly cheaper, as well as a number of other really nice delay pedals. So bang for the buck whise, it looks like it makes more sense to go that route. Don't mean to sound like I'm justifying/apologising, just want to make clear why dispite everything I'll probably have to pass up on the ILFDD, even if it's with mixed emotions

With this said, just go for a DD-7, it will still be useful and relevant even if you add other delays to your arsenal. The short 50ms delay on it is awesome too, gives you this sweet metallic clang and resonance.

K, thnks again.
The official plan as of now is still/again: Compact affordable digital delay (DD-7, DL-8, whichever crosses my path frst), plus something warmer and weirder sounding. A carbon copy seems to fit the bill, but I'm tempted to go a little further and look for a memory lane jr or empress tape delay...Or something else like that, but something that can do more than mimmick a tape delay and maybe add oen swirly effect to it.
Andrew21502: Tell me about the Echo Dream. The Echo Dream 2 looks like it has a couple nice perks, for a smaller price tag even. Still not that small though, it's still among the more pricey pedals out of all the other contestants I've looked at so far. Is it me, or are DBA pedals generally sorta expensive conpared to the competition? :s
I'm off to youtube checking all the demos I can find, lemme know if there's more suggestions for the analog/weird part of my delay duo...

check out the skychord cloudbuster. its not really too large and has a lot on offer, like a four step sequencer on the repeats

Hehe thanks mang. But by "more", I didn't mean I want something the size of a ping pong table, and equiped with more controls than the rest of my board together:)
I got rid of my superdelaylab cause it's too complicated and too expensive, so...:s

just wanted to throw it out there cause i don't think it gets enough attention for how amazing and unique it is.

I think that's 'cause we lost Sonidero to gainful employment.

I meant to put I had the Echo Dream 2.
I like the echo dream , its a fun pedal. It has fuzz, delay and modulation. Its a fun pedal to sit and make noises with, which is its draw back.
It depends what you are trying to use it for, if you were going to get it based on delay factor, then there are better cheaper delays to get, if you were going on the fuzz factor, there are better fuzzes on the market, same for the modulation.
I'm not putting it down, its a great, well built pedal. Its a bit expensive for what it does.
I wish DBA would have put more control on the fuzz feature, like in the pedal like in the ED1.
With the fuzz tone, the knob works as a gain ,however it also works as a volume. So when you go up in gain, you have to lower the volume on the unit.
I wish it had a proper tone knob for the fuzz, it would give the fuzz more character.
