Yes. It really has some simple artifacting you can add on top to give that "what's going on" tone without completely obliterating your signal.

I just got back from band practice so I've not had a lot of time to play around with the Bitmap, but it's pretty rad so far. Like stated above, it will put that sweet sweet digital sheen right on top of your sound. Dat lovely mix knob. Anyway, this is probably a disservice to it, but here's a quick phone vid I made.

I'm gonna be picking one of these up soon. For years I've used modulation type effects (in conjunction with dirt) during certain passages to add texture or movement for lack of a better option. I realized a while back that the sound I've been hearing in my head is the addition of bit reduction instead. The BitMap seems like a great option for bass, especially due to the fact that it can be used subtly if necessary (which it won't be...ever).

For those who have it, how does it compare to say a Hexe Bitcrusher III?

I only have the Hexe Bitcrusher III, it has the most beautiful sample rate reduction I heard so far, apparently because it's a 12 bit circuit instead of the usual 8 bit but I'm not sure, I don't know how the Red Panda Bitmap is running either so apart from my previous comment I can't be of too much help I guess.

It's been a loooong time since I played the Hexe so I can't really compare the two.

The little time I've spent with the Bitmap has been pretty awesome. I actually like the more subtle sounds it can do. The blend is definitely a big plus for bass.

Demo will come soon enough. I have too much crap to demo UUGGHHHH :joy:

i gotta say its pretty premier. crush and freq sounds very lofi sampler. i too have been enjoying the subtler sounds.

i really like the hi/med/lo gain switch, can get a lot of variety out of it. interacts your signal w/ the crush/freq.

only wish there was an adjustable depth (or larger range) on the modulation, but i really dig huge slow sweeps.
