I saw in an interview somewhere, Jonsi explaining that the song is about an old man about to die, and he's looking over the land he's lived on for so long, thinking about his life, and finding it okay that he's about to die.
Basically any song that reminds me that I'm going to die one day hits me like a ton of bricks. sorry to get heavy on y'all

Believe it or not this song fucks me up big time. I've dealt with drug addiction and have lost friends to it. So it hits real close to home. The first time I saw this video (on my SP dvd I actually did cry).

That is a great song. Never saw that music video actually. Right in the feels!
I used to be a druggie and lost a few friends to it too.
A few of my favourite SP songs are actually off of Machina, including this one, which is also beautifully sad, if in a different way.

what makes me cry more than anything is high pitched screaming in some songs. I just feel so much emotion in the scream.
