I'd like to pick up an echorec some day.
interesting. i don't know if i like how the mod control is on the inside for the echorec. and its a bit more expensive.
i guess i will find out for myself tho, dude just accepted my offer for a belle epoch. hooooope its cool.
John Matrix wrote:This is kind of a long shot, but since this is the doom sub forum there is a good chance someone out there can back me up on this. The Sunn Beta Lead has an awesome built in reverb effect. It's kinda tricky to use at first but once you figure it out it will transport you to some dark and cavernous realms. The main trick with this thing is to turn the channel gain all the way up, the reverb all the way up, and the channel volume all the way down (master to taste). The "gain" knob acts as a volume for the wet signal while the "volume" knob controls the dry. The way it's set up makes it kind of hard to use in a live setting but it's a rad sound.
Sounds pretty cool.
In other news, got the Trinity the other day. So far it's really rad, but I haven't had a chance to play it at anything over 'sleeping baby' volumes.

Sweet, I really like the Trinity. I've had the 616 Dark for a few days now and it's....murky. I like it quite a bit but just ordered a Disaster Transport Jr. to compare; loser goes back to the shop.
I went nearly all of 2013 without buying a thing, and have bought 4 pedals in the last two months.
Pretty certain it doesn't. I can double check for you; I figure if it did it would do it with the buffer turned on, and I don't remember it ever doing it. But it's been a while since I last used it. There's also no internal switch to corroborate trails.

it is so so strange to me that the 616 has the option to do true or buffered bypass but doesn't do trails in buffered mode. it just boggles the mind. i've thought of picking up a 616 dark though. sounds super cool. i really don't need another delay though.

Dude I know!? The 616 Dark sounds really good though. The repeats really sit behind your playing so it's great for that ambiance noise chaos type thing. It's not a U2 delay.
I kind of think I really want trails. Are there any small footprint delays out there with trails?!?!?
I had a Flashback for a while which does but I didn't gel with it.

No trails, but if you're looking for a dark delay, definitely hit up skully for a Dirgedweller. Even with a Flashback on my board, I've found that I love the dark, washy repeats that the Dirgedweller has.

Agreed~! There's gotta be some way to get trails on one though, skully can confirm but I think theres relay bypass options out there now that could allow it.

Keeping the Disaster Transport Jr. It's awesome. The Dark is really cool and the modulation sounds great, but I don't really use mod delay and overall it's just a tad too dark (as advertised).

It might be noisy depending on settings, but my occasional dives into the DIY thread say that some type of "parallel loop" type bypass should allow trails. Basically the effect would never go off, you just toggle whether the pedal is being fed signal on and off with the footswitch. Again, if you have a high feedback/oscillating sound, it might bleed pretty bad.
