I think the worst would be a pedal that put that mastering sound they use on smooth jazz and adult contemporary music> So, a digital modeling pedal that compresses, adds a boxy reverb that has all highs and lows rolled off, limits, rolls of more highs and lows, and then compresses it again giving you a sound void of all color and dynamics, the controls to this must be easy to understand to it would have a very small screen with one knob to scroll that you then push to select your settings that don't really change the sound at all, but give you the same kind of feeling of accomplishment as popping bubble wrap. The pedal would have to be made out of plastic and colored in 80's computer off white. The on/off switch would HAVE to be a buffered momentary because you would never ever not want your signal going through the pedal, and, it would have LARGE rubber feet that cannot be removed without a saw that are an inch tall so velcro being applied is pointless.

A very overpriced boutique clone of a cheap analog delay, with the same cheap chinese components and shitty graphic with a panther painted on. I don't know if this actually exists.

To me the worst pedal of all time would be an incredibly complex, unique circuit that cost $400 and gained huge buzz among the forums. Then when someone finally opened one up they saw that the whole circuit was bypassed and just went straight from input to output completely unaltered.

This makes me sad just thinking about it. I can't think of a worse thing to do to sound.
Also, a vocal harmony pedal that generates Michael Bublé's voice on top of your guitar playing.

A pedal that mojoes up your playing by having mojo components next to the wire that passes the signal. Deluxe version with an UV lamp to warm up the tone.
