Currently awaiting an Electric amp.... Would love to hear from other owners or anyone else same situation?
I'm well over the 2 year mark!!
What bugs me most is:
1) I'm on & have been on many wait lists, however it's either deposit Or no money down until ready. (Not full payment up front).
2) any wait times on products I've always gotten am estimate, even if runs late usually close....I was told 5 months so this is way way over. It's lot of $ tied up that long in called for.
Sadly 2+ years is so long my needs have changed & may end up having to sell the Electric when I get it! Really bummed about the entire experience. All the research I did originally when I placed the order, I heard complaints about 6 months to 1 year even, so naturally I expected those as worst case scenario.
Thoughts???

Wish you the best. I personally if I had placed and waited that long I'd change my needs back to needing that amp regardless. If it shows up.
Thanks for bumping this thread. I wasn't full aware of of this either. But I'm glad to be in the know. It was an interesting read all the way through.

Have a look at the open letter to Electric USA thread.

Yeah. I know ILF gets a lot of Doom SEO and, subsequently a ton of lurkers, so people out there in the internet ether, maybe don't buy electric.

So...if we've become self aware of our lurkers....this is some fourth wall shit.

I was a lurker for awhile before I decided to present myself.

I can provide some Matamp GT1 gut shots.

Sold it somewhat recently. :o
I thought I'd miss it, but I don't. Only thing I miss is the prospect of having a fairly rare, somewhat iconic looking amp that can't cash in on in 20 years.

What is the difference in the GT1 and the GTO? I just picked up a GTO but I can't find anything on them at all. The layout on the front panel is the same.

Honestly Conky its a bit hard for me to know. Matamp has been slicing and dicing schematics all the time but possible the GTO is just the non-master volume schematic from the GT1

I thought the GTO was a GT series with a master volume like GT-Overdrive, kinda like an OD120 to an OR120.
The GT1 I was under the impression is like the gt120 but with a different output section that only puts out 100w instead of 120.

Negative Skip. If you see a mid control its already not the same as the GT120. Likely means an FMV EQ and not a james/bax. The GT1 has 2 different modes of operation. In the master volume mode it has an extra gain stage in the circuit where as in the non-master volume mode it would remove that extra gain stage. Those changes alone I believe remove it from the original GT120 circuit.
