Mine seemed to work fine on a one spot

no, don't get me wrong - mine works perfect on the one spot - by itself - add anything on to it's power supply and there is this high pitched whine.

same here, but I think mine is pretty early in the chain
I also don't really give a fuck usually unless it's really bad

May be it was an issue corrected in later models, EHX do that if problems are reported.

Mine is last in the chain, and I'm chaining it using a Godlyke...

had a freeze, which i kept first in chain, loved it then got a superego. i love it, it's last in my chain.

I got the Superego, not expecting to keep it. I just wanted to see what it's about. It's become totally essential. The auto mode is like infinite clean feedback. It also adds a subtle unique something to arpeggiated chords.

yahpers. the effects loop is cool, but i don't like that the pedzals aren't in your chain unless you're glissing with them, but the auto mode is kinda beautiful.
