i just looked up irongear myself. shit, those are cheap. if they're a decent pickup then that would be quite a buy. $40-50 for a pickup that's supposed to be on par with the boutique shit.

That being said, I haven't tried out many other pups. I've been hurting to try out a warpig as well as some Dimarzio D Activators, and maybe one day give some p90's a spin.

Aww yeah another Ampeg dude! Welcome. I use a VH140C, although a Peavey Mace is in my sights right now. Can't pass up 160w tube for cheap (recently recapped too)

For sure. I heard SS series are pretty well the same as the VH, just with a single power amp as opposed to the dual 70w of the VH.
