Always been curious about the Maxon Ether. There's more good superfuzz clones out there, and some of them have an extra knobbie or two...But afaik none of them come with an actual parametic eq...

Too bad it's kinda pricey though.

Did he just get that on ebay? I had my eye on that.

Does it do the scooped and 'regular' modes at the extremes of the EQ control, or is it one of the modes with additional EQ'ing?

anyway... about big muffs cleaning up - I've owned an original Ram's Head since that comment and that was insanely cool like that, so yea... I totally saw the light

regarding the Ether EQ... from what I got from very quickly watching some videos and playing it into Guitar Rig, you can pretty much do the scoop or accentuate the midrange as you want. The EQ is pretty powerful and has quite a wide frequency range to choose from, so you just find the right mid frequency and boost or cut to taste

the desk at our studio got broken, so we can't do any band recording this week so it might take a while until I get to really try it in the band context

I felt compelled to engage in thread necromancy after experiencing multiple fuzzgasms with a newly-arrived Maxon Wind earlier today. The Fire and Void have also brought many hours of fuzzy pleasure. I'm surprised this series of pedals isn't discussed more frequently. Has anyone recently tried the Water? If so, which Ram's head version does it most closely resemble at its core?

The fire has grasped my attention. Why haven't I looked into these before??
