fuck yeah. i've been lucky enough to travel around a bit. whenever me and my grrL are in Japan we try to take a 5 or so day trip to some place close. Korea was meh, Thailand was neat, Vietnam was AWESOME. we checked out old school villages like the Black Hmong and the Flower Hmong, saw Ho Chi Minh's retreat he stayed at during the war, saw his preserved body (and got yelled at for holding hands and wearing a hat before we went in the preservation house), saw a bunch of awesome anti-american war time posters. so many spots that sold WE DEFEATED AMERICA gear.
fucking loved out there. great food, busy city, cool buildings. stuff was CHEAP.
...... i get massaged like every day when we hit less expensive countries. shits ends up being like $3 for an hour in most places. it IS a little awkward when offered extra. doesn't happen that often, and i always tip them well, say no thank you but i appreciate the offer, and want to give them a hug.
