Expensive stuff sure but if you're not worried about money I cannot recommend HEXE more, super high quality, intuitive designs and Piotr is an awesome guy to deal with. I'll definitely buy from him again.

The Melusine always tempted me soooo much. But the Destroyer on the Mobius can do a pretty convincing warped/scratchy LP sound, so it's killed my GAS for it a bit.

Ugh yesssss I want the melusine, bitcrusher, radar phase, spacetime modulator, carrier, lunochod..
If I happen to win about $5000 in the near future I'm replacing my entire modulation section :lol:

OT - how the hell does one incorporate the revolver in a live context? Or at least, with a band. All demos I've heard have been solo.

Once I started playing with the pm7 again I realized it does more bit reducing than crushing, but none the less here it is. Definitely can be used in more subtle ways to enhance your playing as discussed previously in this thread.

I use it for fills in glitch mode, you just set an appropriate sample length and hold down the left switch and it stutters until you release it. Really easy to get the hang of.
I also use the random auto mode with the dry signal on for ambient parts, adds this awesome stutter-y second layer to your playing but still remains subtle if you put it before delay/verb.
Some of the other modes require more tap dancing but it all comes with practice, just have it on the front row of the board with some space left on the sides.
It has so many uses though. By far the most unique and inspiring pedal I've ever purchased.

Dude, very cool! Thank you for the vid. I see what you mean about the pm7 and i like it. It's sort of a combo of bit reducer and subtle ring mod. I'm definitely getting one for the right price, they are all over theh place so that shouldnt be hard. (not to mention i dont even have a phaser since i sold my old mxr phase 100, BOO)

as for the rest of the thread, thanks for keeping the ideas coming, it's gonna take me a while to catch up with all these bitcrushing options, i have been busy bitcrushing my 8 track tapes. "cold as ice" sounds dope as fuck through my c64.

Have people tried the mooer? I can't seem to find people talking about it. It seems like a great option for people who just want control over bit and sample rate

how do u guys use your frantabit in the signal chain?
i just got mine and i dig it a lot, but im not sure what i can really do with it in terms of other pedals...
tried a couple tonebenders before and after it, tried running it into a wolf computer...

anyone know where the 8 bit setting is on the frantabit bit depth knob?

which # of bit rate does the bit depth knob start getting distorted on it's own i wonder...

Geiger Counter:
Ungodly amounts of settings, but very cool, crunchy digital toanz. A tweaker's delight, for sure. EXP/CV can control a variety of the knobs. But realize, you only get ONE toan at a time, and it won't save anything.

Frantabit:
I didn't mesh with this one too well when I borrowed it, but when DannDubbleEwe uses one (with an EXP), it's amazing and lo-fi radio-y and can cop probably the biggest variety of toanz (fuzz, trem, static, n stuff). A very solid pedal that can work wonders in the right hands (er...under the right feet?)

Hexe III:
Kicks ASS. Has a few exclusive features and it's very easy to dial in most crushed toanz you have in mind.

Heliotrope:
I loved it for dissonant harmonic meltdowns. Doesn't sit too well in a mix (I do bass) but a very unique approach. Very ring mod-y.

Bugcrusher:
The hands-down best-sounding crusher!! Consequently, probably the most difficult to get your hands on, too. Very musical, sits amazing in a mix...worth the effort hunting one down.
