Anyone have an opinion on the time factor?

Dude I had a nova delay for a while too. Nothing wrong with it but once I got an El Cap it just sounded sterile in comparison.
Sure the El cap is supposed to be a tape echo emulation but it cleans up pretty well if you turn down the tape age etc. And if you wanna add craziness you can assign the expression input to any knob or use a favourite switch to switch to a crazy setting.
I highly recommend it, seems to match your requirements pretty well. Tap tempo, delay time well over a second

b) tap tempo
c) Dark OR Bright

the Tone is one of my favourite features
d) amazing oscillation
e) 9V power
f) pretty reasonable footprint
and with prymaxe's deals, you can get it under 200 if i'm not mistaken
How's the Wampler do with fuzz?
i don't really know

what do you mean?

There's a guitar shop not too far from Denton that carries it, I could probably try one out there.
The turn off for the El Cap to me was that it seems to have so much going on it was overwhelming, check out the page for it if you haven't
http://www.strymon.net/products/elcapistan/ There's so much shit on there
I suppose I don't have to use all the stuff though.

Yeah I know what you mean haha. Their webpage has so many useless sound examples. I gave up tweaking all the secondary knob functions pretty quickly. You can set and forget them and just use the normal mix/repeats/time though. Its daunting at first but it is a fairly intuitive design.
Definitely try it out if you get a chance. It's not for everyone but for me personally it ended my delay GAS. Only one I use (besides rv-3 for slapback) and will probably stay like that for a while.

I don't know, I have Timeline but I must say I'm not that stoked on the modulation of it, especially not on the dTape and dBucket settings, the modulation is not as nice and present as on a Deluxe Memory Man for instance, in my opinion it also can't do a good vibrato on top of the delay without getting seasick or just too shallow sounding.
I also think the modulation options are all a bit overwhelming and in the end playing live with distortion through an amp everything just sounds a bit the same or some settings just don't work, there must be better (analog) options if you're just looking for a good modulation delay with tap tempo that can self-oscillate, but that's my 2 cents.
EDIT:
I'm thinking, you're going to use with a bass, right?
I that case it might actually be better to go digital, I don't know.
As for the Strymon stuff, it's all quite 'ambient style' I'd say on bass I wouldn't expect their shit to be very versatile really, even the Timeline doesn't have a clear sounding delay at all in my opinion.

I appreciate your input! I will consider this pedal much more now, and maybe I'll get one someday and love it thanks to you

I'd be using it ideally with guitar and bass, but mostly guitar or maybe bass an octave up. I'm honestly not incredibly picky I just like having the features I want it and having it sound as good as possible without getting too worked up about it. If I can find something that sounds better than my nova without spending much more which I think the El Cap might do for me according to to BV, then I would totally do it! If I end up needing something for just great lush modulated delay, I'm sure I can find something for that too

I do love it! I've spent more time with it than any pedal I can remember. I edited all of the presets, reorganized everything to my liking, and just in general love tweaking around with it. But on top of that, it's amazingly simple to use. and when I say use, I mean actually play with and record with, etc.
I built an Aux controller for it so I can bank up and down, tap tempo while staying in the bank mode, and go to 100% wet either by the roller or via footswitch which made things even easier.
I had a TimeLine, which I dug. But I find the TimeFactor a lot more easy to use. I also liked the El Cap's dTape better than the TimeLine

Thanks for the input skully!
How do you like the modulation on the timefactor?

It's cool, and varied. You can do filtered delays, ring modulated delays, phased delays, vibe delays, chorus delays. It's really vast between all of the settings. I'm not a huge modulation guy, but you can add modulation on to ANY delay setting if you want to if it isn't already a mod delay. Which is neat. I add a little bit of sway onto the tape delays which is nice. And on clean digital delays a little mod opens things up as well!

That's good news! I think the timefactor would be a great all in one for what I want to do with delay.

Yeah I like it a lot dude. And it seems like you can find them second hand for a nice price as well!

It can oscillate and shit right?

Yep! And it's got not one, but two feedback controls (because you can blend two delays of the same setting together)
Which is really crazy, because you can have a short one lead into a long one, or visa versa because one can be oscillating and the other can just be a slap. It's nuts if you want it to be!
