Yes, this is true. Buzz uses Boss pedals for the most part. His rig is typically solid-state amps too. I guess some of that depends on what country they are playing in as well.

Yeah if I was doing a big tour I would definitely slim my board down and look for easy to replace pedals as well. For the odd small show it's fine to just look after it, but I wouldn't want to have to care that much if I was going on the road.

Turbo Rat and whatever Muff they've got in stock. That was my original dirt lineup, back in the day.

I really like two Blues Drivers in concert, the first maxed out, pushing the second. Otherwise, the current Little Big Muff is okay.

I liked the MXR Blue Box and Digitech/DOD Grunge(only because it was crazy noisy/feedback, it just wasn't practical)

Honestly, I've never really liked a non boutique dirt pedal enough to keep it.

Especially if you're in a situation where the boutique stuff you're using is a pimped out take on a classic circuit, it's easy enough to get 80% of "your" tone using off the shelf stuff if you're cruising your way through less than optimal gigging circumstances.

you have $50 & are looking for one final pedlol for the bass board - which one do you get, rat or odb3?

For me ODB-3. Rats sound very cool but standard Rats drop too much bass for bass guitar IMO and don't have the EQ and blend control of the Boss which gives you a lot more tonal options for the money. Fair warning it's very grindy on a lot of settings. Which is great! But you know, it isn't for everyone.
