I find myself stepping on the de7 more than the capistan even though I KNOW i like the capistan more - the de7 can never be wrong because it's so simple.
the capistan might be on the wrong setting or something like that so i use it less (and the features are what made me get it). If the de7 had spillover and modulation i think i'd lose the capistan to be honest. i'm using the capistan a lot for reverb and wash.

the particle i sometimes love, sometimes.. get annoyed with. The tone is exactly like what you play into it so doing regular delays doesn't work really all that well (and i wish it would).
It's just not a regular delay, but i knew that. I got it and i like it for all the other stuff it does. Haven't fully figured it out yet.

RE: Particle....

I have one and yes, regular delay is not its strength.
Although more typical delays can be found.
If you use the reverse or random mode, setting the chop just before freeze and working with all the other parameters
I have found great "normal" delays this way.
I think the Particle is better for its out its out of the world sound on sound mashes, creepy robot vowels, scattering synth blips, etc etc etc.
I also have a De-7 and truth is, I use that for my delay.....I use the particle when I want to change what im playing big time.
It really is like an instrument rather than a pedal in many ways, or maybe a modular synth?
Keep exploring with this pedal. I get annoyed as well, but more with myself b/c I feel there is more to find with this pedal than im capable of.

Here's a clip I did with the Particle showing the Freeze loop, which I think is possibly the best feature (when yer in the mood anyhow)
If you use a dirt box before it, the freeze picks up input earlier. Then create a "loop", back off the blend knob...
now you can play over your sample.....really fucking cool.

Oh yeah?? :!!!:

Right now I'm still pretty obsessed with my TimeFactor. I think it's a lot easier to use than when I had a TimeLine, and I've had a lot of fun personalizing each preset

Yup, been craving some Young Widows tones for a while now.... and your cavedwellers seem to hit that pretty spot on, along with a rubadub verb and maybe a comp n OD box. I think I'd be set witht hose 4 on a PTmini.

Once you get used to how the timeline works it gets really easy to program presets, I find it alot easier then my Space.

I think I might be able to arrange a CaveDub in a box :!!!:

And I've been using my computer for a lot of the TimeFactor stuff honestly! Not editing the presets, but naming and arranging them. The software makes it stupid easy to switch stuff around which is great

Yeah dude, it's worth a look at at least, instead of trying to shuffle everything around on your pedal. Let me know if you get into it and what you think of it! It takes a USB chord to the back of the pedal

Hells yeah, still rockin one of those for tasty repeats. Got a particle recently and I LOVE that too for totally different reasons. Half of what I do with it isn't even delay, it's an insane pedal.

Besides my PS-3, I also really enjoy my 5-knob Sunny Day Delay and the DD-7. The DD-7 is awesome because of all the options and its looper is great to use. I would love to try a superdelay eventually; the reverse looping along with delay sounds pretty cool to me.

I'm one of those "all delays are the same" people.

As long as I have tap tempo I really don't care.

Guyatone TD-X. I can't get rid of it! It's way too functional!

that was a REAL nice loop you had going there. real nice.

Yeah what i said wasn't that i couldn't find "normal" delay sounds from it, just that it's so digital and close to the original signal (it basically is the exact same copy) that it clashes too much, could use a hi-cut/low-cut toggle for instance.

I also thought the detune mode would be in a sinewave up and down by using the parameter knob, not random (i thought that's what the param knob was for).

when it comes to the de7 vs el capistan.. i almost wish i couldn't afford the cap and had to make due with the de7 because i don't really need more. it's awesome!
digital or echo setting/pristine vs wash, from basically what.. under 10 ms to 3 seconds? best oscillation ever ever.

like i said, give it the same modulation circuit as the anamnesis/deluxe pitch pirate (rate/depth by turning delay knob) and spillover and i'm done, that's the one.

We'll see how the echo shift does!

gonna try to get a similar loop. don't sue me.

You go Loop crazy my friend!
I agree with your points on the pedal though....
Some days I avoid it myself, b/c well, its just so bizarre.
Its funny that we both have the DE7 and Particle.....
I would normally hide my love for the ibanez b/c well, its was 40 bucks, kinda looks shabby.
But the echo, the oscillation, the cheapness....

let me know her yer looping went
also!
I would love to share favorite settings/sounds from the Particle.
I have other clips with pictures of the settings.
