Personally I think that delay has some funky magic going on that shouldn't be changed. If you want a cleaner delay you'll probably never be satisfied by that MM anyways. But I don't think you'll get quite the same unique lofi edge to the repeats out of anything else.

Well i'd at least change the power supply caps, it's got 3 tantalums as well as the electros which must be dried up by now. And hey if the trims sort out any quirks then it can always be put back how it was.
Definitley considering doing a 9V version of it on the breadboard...

Oh and put a heat sync on the NE5554 regulator, they can overheat and die and don't exist anymore.
As I said, no companding too so it may just be bits of clock noise or something or BBD distortion.
So i'd try those trims, the only one not to play with is the bias but using it wont be the end of the world, just have to tweak it untill it passes delay and distorts the least again.
Had one of these, never used the chorus, kinda wish i'd tried it now.
I'll take a look inside
Should be holes to reach them without taking the board out.
Lookin' at the guts I took, the one closest to the edge of the inside is the bias (in mine there's a wire soldered right near this one) next one down clock balance going towards the middle of the PCB is the filter. If that makes sense.

Got a VTM from Amazon today and noodled around on it for only about 15 minutes. Like it so far, but it's huge compared to my old analog delay (some no-name Korean analog BBD chip delay) for about the same amount of delay and features.
Feedback goes into oscillation really easy, and I like the oscillations way more than my old analog delay. The feedback far more usable in a music context, I think.
Sounds really good with my dirty germanium treble boost in front of it while playing garage rock riffs.
Someone point me to a guide on how to use a DMM/MM effectively? Should carry over to this, and I honestly just don't have the experience to put this thing to the best use, even as simple as it is.

Yep. Switch for either chorus or vibrato and then a knob to dial in the amount.
