I'm in the same boat. I just listen to Atomizer.

also re: swans - I mean, Karen O was on The Seer, and... it sounded like Swans. :idk:

I think the choreography suits her.

I need to quote Jaguar018 from a similar thread on OSG:
I too am in the chorus of "I wish I liked her but I don't-- even though I fully recognize she's an amazing talent."

She never gets weird enough for me to appreciate the weird nor does she ever get basic enough for me to appreciate that either.
Pretty much sums it up for me. Yes, she's attractive and yes, she can play. But does she play anything I want to listen to more than once? Not really.

No worries. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

Yeah, I really don't "get it" either, in that interview video I think she's incredible but then I go to listen to her music and I don't hear much originality or craziness in there (not enough for me to pick up on anyway), I totally dislike those kind of staged / choreographed shows too, it feels so unemotional and boring, it just doesn't click with me.
But yeah, she's a heck of a player and sound designer so that adds to the confusion.

No lie I do not enjoy this live performance at all, but I've liked every other video i've seen of her.

Good god Digital Witness is the smartest/best pop song I've heard in ages. St. Vincent was never my favorite, nor have I ever been able to say I enjoy an album front to back...but god DAMN that song is perfect. :thumb:

Yeah Digital Witness is killer. Actually the more I listen to the whole album the more I love it. Not a bad song.

im kinda known as a gentleman around town. when a woman is having a bad night they know they can call me and i will go out with them and be dd and not try to sleep with them unless they very much want it. well anyways i took a girl out to town because her date ditched her to see "some band" and she was having a bad week. fast forward to an hour ago and listening to her be like "bla bla bla cant believe he ditched me" finally i was like well what band? st vincents. FUCK. FUCK FUCK. i woulda ditched too. i wish i knew. i woulda been there. shitty part of living in nashville is so many awesome acts come through its hard to know when and where whos playing.

I think this album is just great and one of the best things I've heard in awhile. It's got some sort of Prince, Funkadelic, Devo thing going on that I just can't get enough of.

i heard some velcro fuzz overdubs. think it was one of the latter tracks on the new album...i got to hunt that down

she used the mastotron on the last album, and i hear it on this one too. and i know it can get velcro-y. but this im pretty sure this was a fox calculator type device

Definitely not my thing but she's obviously got a lot of talent and it's certainly not run of the mill. I keep seeing the name come up when Noveller is mentioned as they're touring together, aside from that I think this is the first I've seen or heard of her.
