I tend to like really lush sounding analog delays that don't sound too crisp. Don't really care too much for tap tempo. I've used an MXR Carbon Copy for about 2 years now and I still love it. I also have a Digitech PDS from the 80s that I obtained about a year ago that I use for long delay. It has a strange lo-fi kinda sound that I like.

as far as delays are concerned,
I love a little modulation
and delays that self oscillate but also can play right on the edge, almost into oscillation so that the repeats kindof fall apart
tap tempo has never been a critical issue for me I think the way the repeats degrade is way more important

I am also realizing lately how much I love trails

I think I'm gonna add that my dream delay would have an effects loop. Cause those are totes boss! If you haven't heard, listen to a delay with an octaver in the effects loop.
