I love the Onespot but a point came when an isolated supply was my best solution. I ran 12 or 13 boss/ehx and a DL4 on a single onespot for a time with no issues although I never left my jam space with that setup. I don't think you can run anything but 9V pedals from it safely, so I ran 3 fuzzhuggers plus 2 bosses and an ehx freeze on the onespot and I was getting a high squeal. The Freeze was the culprit. I think some of you are also running a Freeze on a Onespot but I warn you, if you haven't had this issue in your regular space you should check it out in a different space before gigging that way, its awful. At that point I put the Freeze on its own supply, kept the FH and Boss on the daisy chain, my old Qtron+ on its own supply and an M9 on its own supply. Two trips out of the house and I couldn't take it. Having four power supplies to plug in was a huge hassle and of course there's that much more to go wrong while you're setting up. I got a Pedal Power 2+ and I love it. It is not noisier or quieter, but a hell of a lot simpler.

It's mostly just annoying when trying to record something because you can hear the faint hum which just kind of bothers me.

This. You can't daisy chain a dsp pedal on any power supply because they introduce noise into the power line.

You might be able to... but odds are you won't be able to. As for it making an audible difference for the audience - it depends on your rig and what sort of music you're playing. Again, I wouldn't risk it.

Prymaxe have a sale on, and while they don't stock Cioks, the Eventide power supply is made by Cioks and it's pretty much a DC10. If you need 15 volts for any reason then a Pussy Power is what you want, or if you need AC then an AC10 or a Ciokolate are what you want. But if you've mostly gone 9 or 12v pedals then a DC8 or DC10 or Eventide will do the trick.

We really make everything so hard on ILF...

Get on of these for $7.00 and plug your cheapo surge strip into it...

Image

I've had 12 pedals on a One Spot with no issues... If it's making noise try turning it around in the socket... And keep the power away from speakers, stereos, TV's, computers, whatever... Dedicate one or two plugs in your room for Amps and Pedals and nothing else, not lamps, alarm clocks, phone chargers, nothing... .

im droppin out of this one for good this time promise

for any guyz now looking to get an iso power supply, just saw this come up -
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=28382
(that's also my old rrr!)

the supa charger was essentially a clone of the old voodoo powers. voodoo claims to have improved the design on the pp2+, but i know people who use the supa charger with no problems.

also that is a steal, seriously. i might snag it if one of you guys don't.

Thanks for posting this. I PM'd him, hopefully I get it for that price. That really is a steal.

NS-2 isn't a bad choice for über metal distortion pedals and stuff... but ther Boss buffer isn't a good treat for many cool fuzzes out there. Also, in reduction/silent mode it effects the brightness of sound significantly, at least mine did.

I have a big-ish pedalboard (some 14-16 pedals) and I dedicated three separate Roland power supplies I happened to have lying around to the digital powerhungry and noisy bastards; And One spot plus an extra daisy chain for a few pedals from a tuner pedal, without having excessive noise level.

Mind though, my bands music IS noisy and loud so maybe I'm just not hearing the problem. Or the problem can be best solved by playing loud as hell ALL DAY - and letting the instruments feedback freely between the songs. :idk:

Yep, these are rad for controlling noise from the mains AC (and for making sure you don't get fried). Noise generated from pedals can only be controlled with isolated outputs. But as many people have commented, most pedals play niceley with each other and noise getting fed back into the PSU isn't an issue.

A few things:

I've never had any issues with my DelayLab and I've always run it on a 1SPOT.

I just added 1 more pedal to my board, and the Freeze started humming, even though it wasn't on the same chain as the new pedal (Gen 5 Echo), so I may just switch it to the other chain to see if that helps. Right now, I've got it isolated on a 9V plug.

Aen, I never noticed any hum at your shows. :)

I played with a guy that has a PP2+ yesterday. And I use a one spot. And his stuff was noticeably noisier than mine. So UHHH.

Then again, I'm firmly in the "IDGAF" camp. Sometimes I'll turn on a delay and a boost during a show and pick up my phone and out it against the pickups.

Related note: I'm gonna use a Kill-a-watt to figure out which if my two OneSpots is drawing more power / using the most current, so that I can add another daisy-chain to the one that is less loaded. You might want to look into a Kill-a-watt for your electronics if you don't have one, they're nifty and cheap. The Kill-a-watt tells you stuff like how many watts or how many amps you're using on a circuit, as well as how clean the power coming from the wall is, what voltage it's at, etc.

i've had so many things on a single onespot before, all working properly.

i think i had like 6-8 pedals of various persuasion (dirt, delays, verbs, mods, etc), sp404, and sp303 all on one. thought it was gunna crap out on me. totes did not.

love my onespots
