It feels like it's degraded. Started out with loose meaning, now it's just nonsense. I don't like all the negativity on the board in the non-spite threads in the last day or two.

No... I literally have forgone food for internet, in fact this past fortnight i've had so many expenses i'm living off plain rice pretty much and nothing else, I feel like shit from it.
With internet I a) have something to keep me sane/occupied at points like that + outside communication b) have access to a large amount of people where I can at least sell things to pay for food and c) have the best chance of finding more work to get back on my feet. So being online doesn't mean you're doing okay, it's just a lesser of evils.

And I do! I have good months and bad months, I save where possible but life hands you shit and it's hard to rebuild, save and get back on track, I have a home yes, I used to do quite well for myself, but things can happen and then it's not just a case of 'get a job and do fine' I have to pay to keep the roof over me, it's expensive, so I have to exclude things, heat, hot water, new clothes, food, whatever I decide I can do without for that time. Next month though, I might do well again and be back on track.
