this is the thingy i was looking at for an interface -
http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-iO-DOCK-Do ... +interface's neat 'cause it gives some mic style inputs, and that would be useful live. but word on the street is that there might be issues with the ipad 3rd gen or newer os's.
I'M CONFUDDLED WITH MY OPTIONS.

I know right?!? I remember when those things came out.. I have a HUGE interest/disinterest going with iPads... I almost like the idea... but I don't think they are there yet.. so I'm waiting to see where it goes for a bit... and that is why I have ended up getting a real moog and have a minibrute coming that will someday get here... I ordered the thing in april....

Looks like I should be looking in to the capabilities of my iPad... Trucks and Skulls is pretty fun though.

Yep. Worrying too much about all the weird shit takes You nowhere interesting.
And I think Your idea sounds just great, wonderfully messed up: compact VSTi laptop synth gear into huge analog pedalboard for effects? Fantastic!

huh. been thinking about it, and i kidna want that McMillan 12 Step controller thing. i think i could pull that off decently, and it'd free up The Singer GrrL to prance around on simple keys shtuff that's there to fill out busy bass/drum parts. that with a Maschine Box might be kinda hawt.
Amazon sells them for $250, more than i'd want to pay for a controller, but using it for chord outline/saw wave lead stuff instead of bass pads might work all kinds of good.
DAMN YOU PUSHY MAN.
heh. pushy man. TUSHY man. Pushy Tushy MAN. RARRRRRRRRR.
i..... have had a lot of pills today.
Bassus - cha! i think i'd bring my bigger board for bass shtuff, then a smaller like 3 or 4 pedal board for a table or sumphin' so i could do knob twiddles whilst playing.
i was running AniMoog and Maschine and Electribe through my board today, and so damn HAWT. Elements has so much control on it's rangr it's just MAD suited to... well, everything but it works great with synth and drums breakup stuff.

Yeah, I'm planning on paper how to run RotYrBrain and Animoog parallel,

perhaps split signal to go through pedalboard and looper + a few peds.

no real excuse. had a baddish headache, decided to take the day OFF. good shtuff. mellow as butts all day.
yah. i've got two channels on my power amp, and lately 4 12's is just WAYtoo much at practice. i can baly turn my amp up to 2. so if i dedicate 2 12's to bass and 2 to synth stuff i thnk i'll be fiiiiiiine. 'm pretty excited about trying to work stuff like this in. my singer plays keys and synth, so mine would just be simpler complement to that, but could be FUN.

Behn, let me know how you like the McMillen if you go that way. I have decided to go deeper than the MicroKorg, which is fine for use on 2-3 songs for the band. I am going to get a Novation UltraNova. It is kind of like Maschine in the Hardware/Software integration, but is also a standalone synth. The editing program is SICK! Plus it has automap for DAW integration. they are usually $700 but I have found them for just over $500.

nice! yeah, the Nova stuff is SILLY good. i'm just so enamored with Native Instruments that i came a little when they moved to the Mschine platform over that other hardware thing they had right before that. the Total Integration thing? man, i would be PISSED if i bought one of those. which i ddi. but i didn't take it out of the store because they wouldn't agree to return it if i didna like it. BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE SOFTWARE TO USE IT.
fucking GC. i spent like 30 minutes explaining how the software was useless without the hardware. and how imalready had Komplete. dildos. but they DID save me from getting in on a failed platform. sooooo..... tasty dildos? that have only been in immaculately cared for virgin booters?

Well, I ended up going with an M-Audio Venom. The UltraNova had it's pluses and so did the Venom. They both have the "performance" keyboard label but I found being able to split keys and being multitimbral pretty important after I thought hard about it. There are definately some things that I like more about the UltraNova. The other factor is that I scored the Venom CHEAP (about half price)...
Yeah I love Maschine and NI too, but I figure a solid 49 key controller that can also do standalone synth without the computer (band use) is a best choice to cover all of my needs.

yahp. exactly where i'm at. the ability to use the full fledged Maschine on the home pc then transfer over kits and patterns to the pod to run as a stand alone all in one'er is pretty awesome though.
i'm a NERD about duplicate setups.
