Haha well I don't know about that but thanks!
I just realized upon re-reading that there is supposed to be another pic at the end. I'll get that posted tonight!

Is it a pic of the ladder braced guitar with a birch top you're building me as a surprise?

Headstock taper cut in and truss rod slot cut.
Image

Neck profile and rear of headstock are cut out and trimmed smooth.
Image

Headstock veneers are then glued on.
Image

There are the glued veneers. Now it's time to cut out and trim the neck and headstock profiles. Then when those are trimmed, the fingerboards are made and ready for gluing.
Image

Here are the fingerboards with inlays glued in. ready to be smoothed out and glued on.
Image

And now the fingerboards are glued on.

Fingerboards trimmed.
Image

A rough craved neck ready to have the heel and headstock blended in.
Image

Heels and head stocks blended into the freshly carved necks.
Image

All fretted!
Image

Then the wings get glued on.
Image

Bodies are glued together!

Next comes some sanding and then routing!

Then after final sanding it is time to go into the spray booth!
Here is a group shot!

Front and back of Rustic Deco! This bass VI is still looking for a home! If you know anyone looking for a bass VI for well under $2k then send them my way!
Image
Image

Shaded bass VI with tortoise binding! This one is spoken for!
Image
Image

Pink with black. This will get a black pickguard, pickups, and knobs! It will look amazing. Incidentally this one is still looking for a home too!
Image
Image

The custom ordered Coquette bass. This one is a concept designed by the customer. She wants it too look like an apple. I think I nailed the "granny smith green" color. It will get a powdercoated aluminum pickguard that will be off-white like the inside of an apple.
Image
Image

And finally Lavender! White binding, white headstock overlay, maple fingerboard! It will get a silver pickguard and white pickups and knobs. Gonna be SSWWWEEEETTTTT!
Image
Image

I was just emailed this photo from Jack Conte from a show they played in San Francisco last week. Looks like he is still diggin his Coquette!!!

That lavender one looks great, bet it's going to be dead sexy when it's finished. Maybe someday I'll order a Socialite with that colour scheme from you.

Essentially any fingerboard is possible. I just hadn't had a reason to do a maple fingerboard until this point. It is really only for the look this time.
Regarding the green color, even though it is a dead on "apple green" I am thinking of making the official color name "Ecto Cooler" =-)
oh and a Socialite in the lavender color scheme would be pretty awesome!

Sprayed the last build coats today.
Thursday and friday will be level sanding, saturday will see the final wash coat of lacquer go on.
From there they get to relax for 3-4 weeks to cure.
In the meantime I'll be turning attention back to the acoustics to buff them and get them ready to go!

Brought the bass VIs inside to cure for several weeks. Couldn't resist taking some shots with the pickguards laid in place. So without further adieu I present the final teaser until they get buffed out and finished up in a month or so.....

"Rustic Deco" Had to throw some back shots in there because it looks so cool!
