I'm a huge fan of stacking dirt pedals, and all of the pedals on my board are dirt, besides a delay and boost. usually 1-3.

My favorite fuzz sound requires 2 pedals, and if I'm noodling fuzzily there's probably a delay set to a reverb-like toan as well. Or an actual reverb.
I am loving the shit out of this phaser's ring mod toans...so the WHAT IS GOING ON HERE fuzz-but-no-delay-or-heavy-modulation requires 3 pedals.
Gazemode is 5 pedals.
Clean is a-okay too. Sometimes, depending on the bass, I'll add some Team Awesome dark boost on top. Mudbuckers are already ridiculously fat, but wuss Jazz bridge pickups need a little help.
So usually 1-3 pedlols.
