i think the guage of quality for a post-rock band is how unlike EITS they sound.

which nixes out 90% of all local level post rock bands, and like... 50% of the national/regional tour/support bands

imo genres "die" when they beocme a formula, and EITS p much formulated post-rock

though arguably the credit goes to Six Parts Seven, but EITS made it so that EVERYONE sounds like that

Beside that Red Sparows and Russian Circles are some of my favorite bands, these two were missed:
- Ostinato
- Maserati

The Antlers? Maybe some John Frusciante stuff from the Empyrean? It's not ALL that atmospheric though but it's awesome.
