I've wondered WHY the bass pedals just can't have a clean blend with a tone controll (low pass filter) dedicated to that clean channel, so it cut's all but the low end if that's what the clean blend is supposed to ensure in there.

This is exactly why I wired my bass stereo. I can run fuzz through the bridge pickup and roll the tone down on my neck pickup. if you do put in a clean blend I second or third the clean blend tone knob

I'd really like someone to make a Buzzaround built for bass. I know EQD makes the Sound Shank, which isn't easily available, and every other "boutique" guitar effects company "makes" one as well, but I'd like to see someone tweak and add/subtract to the circuit to make it a bass fuzz, like Robot Factor/BassFuzz.com did with the Tentacle Love Superfuzz. I think it would be awesome.
