Recently got one of those Pork Pie Tractor Thrones. Really solid and stable under the ol' bootie.

Re: Cleaning up some old Ludwig Standard Drums

Ok So I've reconfigured my cymbals. I put my Sabian 20" HH Medium ride over the bass drum with a boom. This is my heaviest, least crashable ride and I like this placement for it. The 21" Sabian Memphis ride is back a bit and hovering over the floor tom. This one is my favorite cymbal and has a big bright and non-gongy crash plus it is a great, bright somewhat washy ride and a contrast to the darker HH Medium ride.
I've want to find a nice, used 17 or 18 inch crash above the rack tom, high hat, snare triumvirate. Right now I've got a 16" Wuhan crash there and it is not cutting it. It sounds cheap, thin, and trashy.
It is important for me to find a fairly inexpensive used cymbal for this spot but its got to be able to hold its own with the Sabians. I've been thinking 18" Sabian Omni though even used that is probably a bit out of my price range. I am also thinking about the Sabian AAX Stage and Studio series crashes but I am concerned that these may be a bit too "hard rock" or "metal" for my tastes as I need something for lower volume rock.
Also seriously thinking about an 18" Paiste Giant Beat or 2002. Wondering how well they would integrate with my Sabians.
Alson thinking about Zildjian but not sure which models to look for.

HHX Studio 18"? I have the Stage variant. They sit back in the mix more than the AAXs. They're not trashy like the HHXtreme stuff. They (at least the Stage) project but aren't so bright/modern sounding.

Yeah, I bet that would be pretty much perfect though the hhx seems to be a fair bit more expensive used than the aa or aax stuff.

Just ordered one of the Meinl Hand hammered cowbells and a DW Bass drum hoop clamp to install it.
