as for the personal reason - it's more so that i'll be putting the best friend out there relatively soon (which is specifically a clean blend circuit), as well as complicating/changing things up somewhat more than i'd like to do at the moment (obviously easier to build 20 of the same thing than 16 of one/4 of the other). that being said, i may change my mind about feeling that way when it comes time to actually do the building.
I see, thank's for the insight. As for the octave footswitch, shit yeah!
The Best Friend sounds killer too, my ss/bs reserve account shall be depleted, no doubt.

I have a couple of Superfuzzes (Malekko mini, Guyatone) but am still looking for the definitive one. This concept is right the eff on.
And a big ol' meh to clean blend. Just doesn't seem right on a Superfuzz...I mean it's SUPERFUZZ.

oh yeah. it has a buffered input as well so it plays nice wherever you put it.

You know what, screw the clean blend, I'd buy one of these things in a heartbeat.

i would say have the octave stomp switch connected to a tailored pot that can go from thin to fat, so you have play in the deep spooky tones, and then hit it in the high end sha la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaa tones.
top jacks are ace in my book and completely high five.
THE WHOLE ENCLOSURE SHOULD LOOK LIKE A RUBIX

!!!!!!
my ideas always drive the price up.
hahahaaaa......

yeah the octave footswitch is directly tied to the "balance" pot. when the octave is disengaged the balance pot won't have any effect - so you can get a subtle to massive difference when you switch it on.
yeah i plan on doing something puzzling.

update:
i decided to add another switch. i had two transistors reversed by accident the whole time and i was wondering why it was so much darker than it should've been...

that being said, it sounded rad!
the octave switch and balance pot work a bit differenly in both modes and the tone in the "wrong" mod is radically different than the standard superfuzz sound - it's dark, bass-y, meatier and has more intermodulation to my ears - when used in conjunction with the starve control and balance pot you can get clean-ish overdrive sounds to heavy sludge. switch to "normal" superfuzz mode for chainsaws and feedback...
