As far as I'm concerned you're still welcome here.
Just realize that this forum is made up of people of all shapes, sizes, colors, orientations, cultures, planets.....etc.
So what may go unnoticed some places, will be called out here.
Like I said in my previous post:
You've got a killer set up there.
I love 15's and I've always wanted a V4.
Maximum volume yields maximum results.

Ryan wrote:Rattle-man, I know this seems like a crazy blow-up here but I can relate... this happened to me once too. When I was in high school I had a confederate flag shirt that I thought was awesome because I was into Pantera and Crowbar and Corrosion of Conformity and I thought it was a symbol of southern badassery, which I wanted in on. I didn't know a thing about the civil war or anything, I had no idea what that flag meant and the person who explained it to me didn't think I was a southern badass.
The thing about some symbols is they do have different meanings through the years, good or bad, but some don't. The swastika is a good example since for thousands of years and to millions of people it was a symbol of spirituality, enlightenment, or mystical knowledge.
The confederate flag has always been a symbol of racism and oppression, that's what it means to people. It never had a spiritual history and it never will. But even if you were a student of Eastern religion and had a swastika for an avatar pic, that still ain't gonna fly, you know?
I think we can all still be pals though, you like 15s and Teles, I still think you're welcome. *smile*
That's what you get for trying to be a "Southern Badass".....in Canada.
*edited for spelling

Haha yeah, I know! Geeez I was heavily influenced by those bands, I was even saving up confederate dollars for when the south would rise again. (I'm kidding, Canadians are all born completely racially open-minded, I just really thought they were cool badass dudes... it was almost 20 years ago but I still feel embarrassed about that shirt)

well im glad to hear it, like i said, i was kinda likin the joint.
& for the record, i dont think ive flat out disagreed with anyone here. im not disagreeing that symbols cant be effective at evoking emotions. just that symbols only hold the power, we, the people give them. be it good or bad.
also for the record, i was only posting that second pic cause it had the tele & the carr in it. not the flag

am i wrong in what i said. MEC called me out on it, & i agreed with him that its still derogatory when meaning not cool, & also not a good analogy for my case lol. i was only showing that words & symbols can change over time. as i tried with the swastika, & the devil horns analogies.
& fuck yeah dimebag
& ya, i may have a problem with debating

Brokowski-I'm from GA and I ain't with that shit. I know you to be a pretty good dude, otherwise. But it really has done nothing but perpetuate bad vibes. And it sort of casts us southern folk in a negative light. I don't want for all southern white boys to be lumped together as a group of bigots. In my ways,I am as southern as it gets-Elvis,Allman Bros.,Little Richard, Johnny Cash, the Blues, collard greens, and butterbeans(not limas, what the fuck is a lima bean?),but what I'm sayin is be proud of where you come from(hey, rock n' roll, blues, jazz, country, and bluegrass where invented down here),but just lose that goddamn thing! No offense meant...Just chimin' in...
Peace to all

i am glad we can all agree on me keeping this though. was my first tube amp. had it for like 2 years now. oh yeah & did i mention how fuckin gnarley it sounds running out the ext amp jack on the v4 into the viceroy. setting up the v4 for lows & the viceroy for highs

i didnt play it for long cause i wasnt sure if it would fuck anything up. anybody comment on that?

good time to advertise to, the great wall is for sale

I'd probably use the funds from the great wall to invest in an A-B/Y pedal, unless you want to use the v4's preamp alone. That said, If you're using the preamp out jack you should be fine. I wouldn't use a speaker out for that, though.
Also, feel like it's worth noting that the Josh Homme toanz are super tied in to him using a V-22 (which was the combo version of the V4).
So, yeah, Kyuss toanz, brah. Kyuss Toanz.

The V series sound is a lot more QOTSA than Kyuss, though there's crossover aplenty. Cheap solid state Peavy, and Tube Works stuff, along with a few marshalls here and there contribute to KYUSS.
Not to say that the V-4 isn't a dream of mine. Also, the bass on Converge's You Fail Me was a V-4 turned up "until it hurt".
