Seriously? You liked the new BATTLES record? Why?

I sincerely want to know by the way - I had such high expectations of this util I found out Tyundai had quit. Then I heard the track with Aguayo and I was all :!!!: again. Bought the record - bam - Aguayo track is the only one I like.

OK!!!!!
Stuff off their self titled is kind of interesting, but I don't think I would listen to it very often/at all. The stuff off Get Color seems like a really good blend of noise, dance, and rock.

I was pretty let down by it, too. Not even because of no Tyundai, it just didn't grab me at all. Though every live video I've watched of the new stuff has been fantastic, so who knows.

Fucked Up's new one was pretty excellent. I still like Chemistry of Common Life better overall, though David definitely had higher highs. The fake compilation they also released, David's Town, is also really, really good.

Bill Callahan's new album was extremely good. I liked Veronica Falls. Apache Dropout's album is pretty cool. Aaaaand, that's all I can think of.

I mainly like the Instrumental tracks, though I much prefer them live. Tyondai's quitting made me sad, though I do appreciate the lack of vocals. 'Tonto' remains my favourite thing they've done though. Mirrored was a killer record.

John Stanier kills me, sincerely, I could listen to him all day.

'Absence' is amazing. The first album was BadBadNotGood: 'BBNG'. Absolutely killer album. Could well be among my favourite things that's been out out this year.

Free, and recommended!

But, yeah, there's been a lot of good music out out this year. There's lot's more, but those four records I'm listening to a lot currently. Alongside lots of Miles Davis. Miles Davis makes me very happy.
