St. Louis local bands The Lion's Daughter and Fister have been leveling tiny clubs throughout the city with their sizable rigs! I get to see those sexy green cabs on Monday when Fister open things for BLACK TUSK!

I'm sold that 6 is better than 8 now, its not about quantity but quality. I'm using 6 12's in practice now instead of the 8 i was using before and its alot more manageable and can still get just as loud. Oh and I was actually pleasantly surprised at the low end the 65's have too. My emperor 4x12 and 2x12 have swamp thangs in them which are extremely bassy heavy, but the break up is very ?blocky? in comparison to the real smooth low end of the 65's, they sound best in the ported 2x12 cab IMO. I can crank the bass on the amp more with the 65's and get a fatter low end with much smoother response. Oh and the presence and cut of the 65's is impressive, I'm extremely happy. The michigan 15's in the 3x15 have IMMENSE low end but less mids and cut than the 65's but they balance out the 65's perfectly. I'm so happy i can't wait to try them out live and finally be able to really crank em up.

I wouldn't get the burst. And I'd look into some other speakers, just because there are so many options out there that just defaulting to Webers or Celestions may be easy but not the best speakers. I've heard good things about some of the new Jensen speakers, and I've always wanted to try Carvin Speakers, because of Frank Zappa, and just cuz.

Also does anyone know if there is an emperor store that you can go to to check out their products before you just buy one?

No Emperor store or dealers but considering your location, I'd think you could just give 'em a call and head on down to the shop to try out whatever.

Made the voyage to Chicago this weekend to grab my Emperor OS 2x12 (bottom cab) loaded with Weber 75W Silver Bells to compliment the 65s in the other. Shit sounds GOOD, mellower/smoother speaker than the 65s perhaps but bringing more low end. Really nice pairing, gonna lug 'em to the jam spot later this week and see how they do with some real volume.

Next up is my Dunwich Metro (plus Emperor constructed headshell) and my rig shall be complete.
