Do tell, I can take it.

:hello:

-The bypass - tiny bit of carrier bleed/some slight weird metallic sheen on everything, mostly noticeable when dirt pedals following it in the chain are on. Stick it in a looper, shit's gone - very confusing to me if this thing's true-bypass, but I don't know shit about ring mod innards, so :idk:

-The frequency range - I wanted the highs to go up into drive-dogs-nuts territory; they don't really. Emailed you about this, and you said you could shift the entire range (which is awesome), but I think I'd like to keep the lows where they are. Not a dealbreaker whatsoever, was just a personal preference.

-There's a significant volume jump for about 1 second when I engage the effect, only when the frequency range is set to "lo" (trem stuff). No idea why.

All this aside, the Randy's Revenge is the...."richest" (ugh, sorry) ring modulator I've played. Ringstinger, Glacier, Moog, etc. do not compete.

When bypassed you get carrier bleed? Strange because the bypass shuts off the oscillator, which explains the slow start on low settings. Might be something else going on here. Make a loop with it and it's gone? you just blew my mind. This is an interesting issue you're having, if there's anything else you can add, please do so.

The new version will go higher and lower. That whole section has been heavily reworked.

I think he's referring to a True Bypass looper, maybe...

Oh, great. Now, that means I'm going to have to buy the new version. I guess I could've waited, but it would've been a pretty long wait. I've been loving my RR and don't at all regret having snuck one in under the wire. I'll just have to start saving up for a new & improved one.

@StopReferencing, I know you've tried both... is there a big difference between the Ring Mod setup of the Iron Ether FrantaBit and Randy's Revenge... could you described them a bit.
I never tried RR, but I have FrantaBit here at the moment.

I know it's not the same things FrantaBit is digital and more like a bitcrusher effects, RR is analog... but that's just to give me an idea.

Thanks!!

The setup meaning the interface or the sound?

The interface is somewhat similar, I suppose - tune the frequency and balance the wet/dry to taste, nothing too different there. Sound-wise, the FrantaBit sounds (you guessed it) more digital! Less "depth" than the Revenge, but still definitely a competent ring mod imposter. Also, less trem sounds on tap in the Franta - won't go too slow.

^ Thanks
I mean sound.

I guess I will need both, but I'm broke at the moment.
